That Monday, Jesy walked onto the school grounds alone.

She went to her locker and exhaled while reading over a message she had gotten from Ray Ray the night before. It was only the words; We need to talk. She had responded by asking 'about what' but he had not answered. Was he somehow mad at her? She hoped not. Didn't even f*cking do anything to him. Where were he and the others anyway?

The girl retrieved her books and looked around the hall in something like confusion.

Some people passed by her and whispered.

"The cool kids finally dropped the dead weight?" Someone asked before laughing with their friends.

Jesy broke a little by that statement but growled. "Shut the f*ck up!" She responded aggressively.

Her phone started ringing then and she was glad to see that it was Ray Ray. Finally. She no longer had to stand around looking like a lost fool.

"Where the f*ck are you?"

"Outside. Meet us at the back of the school."

Jesy did not like how brief he was keeping things. "If you're dropping me just say it." She hissed, trying to act as if that happening wasn't the absolute worst case scenario in her head. They better not be. She couldn't survive out here in this shark tank. They were her shield against other people's judgement. How could they do this to her? And when I'm most vulnerable. Tears were welling up and she had not even heard an answer from him yet. She did not even know what they would talk about. I haven't done anything bad recently! She had literally been minding her business!

"Jesy that's not . . . just come outside." Ray seemed exasperated. He hung up after that.

Jesy tried to stand tall before walking off.

Once she turned to the back of the school, she saw them.

Ray Ray, Princeton, Jungkook, Jade and Perrie were standing around and chatting with each other. It seemed that Jungkook had said something funny because Perrie was now laughing while Jade rolled her eyes fondly.

Jesy's face softened once she saw that they didn't appear tense. Was this a surprise party or something? It's not my birthday. She was very confused.

"Oh. Y'all," Ray brought it to all of their attention that she was here.

Jesy could see the expression of joy dim from Perrie's face. Her ex-best friend looked away from her, seeming upset. Shit. She was starting to remember something she had done recently to annoy Perrie. Her mother had already confronted her about it. But it wasn't even that f*cking bad. Was this . . . was all of this about that? Couldn't be.

She stepped in front of them and opened her arms. "Well?"

Ray Ray looked to Princeton who seemed visibly upset with her compared to Ray Ray.

Jesy did not like this. Her stomach was starting to ache. "Come on now. What's with all the suspense-"

"Jesy?" Ray said.

Jesy was becoming a bit agitated. "Yes?"

"Why did you send Leigh-Anne that disgustingly offensive message on Saturday night?" Princeton said with some attitude. His arms were folded and he stepped closer to her than the others were.

Shit. It really is that. She had to shake her head. "Look, I get it. I was being rude and mean. In the moment it seemed like a good idea since I was mad about something but I hadn't used the tools my psychologist had given me about cooling off before jumping into things. My mum told me off about it, said she was disappointed, I feel like shit and wish I could apologize to her face but I can't so . . . guys I feel bad. I shouldn't have said tha-"
