Janice was scrolling through her phone in bed that night when her phone started ringing in her hand.
Her husband looked away from his book with a raised brow. "Expecting a call at ten p.m my dear?"
Janice was very confused. "Not at all." It was Marcy calling her. Was everything okay?
She answered. "Hello?"
"Hi Janice. Sorry to call so late but there's been a bit of a situation." Marcy sounded pretty calm but something about her voice and how softly she spoke was concerning.
Janice sat up. "What is it?" She hoped that nothing too serious was happening.
"So . . . Perrie called me a while ago saying that Jesy has apparently been using Leigh-Anne's name and illness to gain followers on Instagram by pretending to be a close friend of hers, hence making her seem like a saviour of some sort?"
Janice was completely lost by this information. "Has she?"
Andrew was looking closely at her.
"Apparently so. I hadn't known about this and Jade and Perrie had not known about this but Perrie said that she and Jade found out a few hours ago while Leigh had been at Jade's for dinner and they discussed what to do and decided to contact Jesy to tell her to tell the truth to her followers but this really upset Jesy and she threatened to um . . . to end her own life after she came clean and said that it would be their faults. To me, that sounds extremely serious. Is she okay?"
Janice's eyes were as wide as saucers. "Oh my goodness." She held her chest.
"What?" Andrew sat straighter.
Janice shook her head slowly. "She's been so quiet . . ." She got up and started rushing to Jesy's room to check on her.
"Janice?" Andrew followed her.
"She's been quiet?? You should definitely go see if she's alright," Marcy sounded frantic.
"That's what I'm doing no-Jesy!" The mother got to her daughter's room and swung the door open with anxiety coursing through her body.
She met Jesy lying in bed, giggling at things on her phone.
Janice froze in the doorway.
"What's going on?" Andrew came in behind her.
Janice was not sure . . .
"Is she okay? Janice? Did you find something? Hello?? What's going on?" Marcy sounded very concerned over the line.
Janice snapped out of it. "She's fine. Let me just speak with her for a moment. Th-thanks for telling me." She hung up then walked up to Jesy's bed. "Jes wh-what's this I'm hearing about you using Leigh-Anne for followers on Instagram? And saying you'd end your life after your friends requested that you tell the truth?" She was so confused and concerned it almost hurt.
"What?" Andrew was lost. "Jesy are you okay? End your life? Why? What is this?"
Jesy's eyes were wide as she stared at her concerned guardians. F*ck. Jade and Perrie really dragged her mother into this?? What was wrong with those clowns??
She had fifty missed calls from the two of them combined but she considered that an accomplishment. Were they actually concerned or doing this to spite her? Whatever it was, she did not like this development.
She sat up and set her phone down. "Who told you that?"
Janice held her own phone up. "Marcy-"
"Marcy??? F*cking Marcy-" She chuckled. "They really called the chick's mum?"
