Jade had brought two of her buddies from her gang as security for this little escapade.
Jin wiped hands along his thighs as he sat across from some of the rich kids that Jade went to school with. "So . . . are you scared?" He asked out of nowhere. They were almost to their destination according to the girl in the passenger seat. A boy wearing braids was driving.
Princeton had one leg crossed over the other. Their seats were like couches on either side of the RV. They were face to face. "Not really. I mean it's just people right?"
"People who might rob you blind if you're not sharp enough." Sairah said from the front.
Jade shook her head. "I don't think they'll do that. Plus, we'll mainly be in here won't we? In here and close to this RV so they won't be able to get to us."
"I'd advise everyone to keep their jewellery and other valuable possessions somewhere safe anyway." Sairah said.
"You already told us not to bring any of that stuff. That's why we're out here looking as rough as ever." Perrie pouted at her naked wrists and felt her empty neck. "Weheheheh."
"You're not even a jewellery wearer." Jade said with an eye roll.
"But I could be. And if I was then this would be hard." Perrie folded her arms.
Namjoon and Jin laughed. They sat across from Jade's friends. There were five of them in all. This was the first time they were meeting them. Leigh-Anne was the only one they had met before but she was not here now.
"So why isn't Leigh-Anne here again?" Namjoon just wanted to know. He had liked her. She seemed like a nice girl. Very easy to talk to.
"Oh she's just traumatized from everything that happened at this neighbourhood. I mean, it was where she used to live six months ago so it's expected." Perrie said dismissively as they travelled along a very bumpy road.
"Try not to fall off the edge." Sairah whispered to Ray Ray as they neared the area.
Ray Ray was sweating with his eyes ahead. "Yo this road is not it. Is it even a road? What the heck?" He was having trouble keeping this massive vehicle in check. "Maybe we shoulda hired a driver."
"No. Then more people would see the festering sore that is where me and Leigh came from and Leigh wouldn't want that." Sairah said crossly.
Jungkook gulped as he listened to Sairah's description. "Are there people suffering from gangrene over there?"
"What?" Sairah did not know what that was.
"You said festering sore so . . ." Jungkook said nervously.
"Gangrene's like when someone has an injury that gets infected and ends up rotting part of them even while they're still alive." Jade explained.
"Probably one of the worst things to experience." Namjoon was cringing.
"Gangrene? What is it? A community or a war zone?" Jin was cringing too.
Sairah made an 'o' with her mouth. "Yeah, yeah there are folks who've had that problem but you won't see them waltzing around." She chuckled before looking back at the well dressed teenagers. And that Jin guy. He said he was twenty but to Sairah he looked like a teenager too. "They'd probably be at the infirmary."
"Oh so the place has got a hospital?" Perrie was looking through the window behind her. They were here and so far it was . . . dreary.
"Not really. More like a place where ladies who think they know about health feed you alcohol and dress your wounds. Glad I didn't have to go there . . ." Sairah's voice got quieter as they drove along the bumpy roads.
