The next day, Sairah felt like herself again.

She whistled as she finished fixing her tie in her mirror and then adjusted her bun at the top of her head. She still believed that she should not have been kept at home for a whole two days but Amanda had insisted. At least she was not being kept away from the action for a third day. Leigh-Anne needed her at that school. The first day she was gone a pervert attacked her sister. The second day didn't bring about anything negative but it could have. The point is that it's safer for her when I'm there. She nodded to herself then started waltzing out to go bug Leigh bright and early. Next week's her birthday and I have no idea what I should do. Maybe she should just get her sister another plush animal. Yeah she still carries Bemo wherever she goes . . . or was it Nemo? I think it was Nemo. If she got Leigh-Anne another one then the girl could call it Bemo.

Sairah was the first one ready- as usual. She left her room and went straight for Leigh's.

She was about to just enter but remembered how picky Leigh-Anne was.

So she knocked and waited.

No response came.

Sairah frowned. Was Leigh-Anne still asleep? She laughed to herself and pushed the door open after turning the knob. "Rise and shine sleepy head."

Leigh-Anne did look like she was still asleep. Sairah could only see her back. The girl was curled up under her sheets.

The sister chuckled as she came in further. Once she was right at Leigh's bed she shook her by the shoulder. "Time to get up Leigh. You're usually up at this time cross-checking f*cking everything since you worry so much."

Leigh-Anne moaned softly.

Sairah frowned and tried to look at her sister's face.

Leigh's eyes were open.

"Oh . . ." To Sairah, it did not look like they had ever been closed. "Leigh-Anne if you're awake then why are you just lying here? We have school."

Leigh-Anne didn't budge.

Sairah pocketed her hands and frowned. "What? You sick or something?"

Leigh didn't say anything.

Sairah rolled her eyes. "Leigh-Anne if you don't start getting ready then we'll be late."

"Leave me alone Sairah." Leigh finally said in a small voice.

Sairah had heard that one before. "I'm not just gonna let you lie here instead of getting ready."

"I don't feel well."

Sairah tilted her head. "Really?"

"Yeah . . ."

Sairah rubbed her chin. "Did you catch what I had?" This was kind of scary to her. "What I had may have looked like something easy to beat but it was only because I had it. Leigh you're puny and frail. What if it knocks you out?"

Leigh-Anne sighed. "It's a stomach bug. Now please leave." She sounded tired.

Sairah narrowed her eyes. "Wait . . . the same stomach bug from last night? The reason why you barely ate your dinner? It's stretching into today?"

"Yeah." Leigh said softly.

"Well that sucks." Sairah scratched her head. She looked at the door then Leigh-Anne. "I guess I'll tell Amanda you're sick." She looked around as if not sure of what to do before rubbing Leigh's shoulder. "Take care."

Leigh heard her footsteps leave the room and her door shut afterwards. She was grateful that Sairah actually closed it.

Now that she was gone, Leigh moved to her back and stared emptily at the ceiling.
