Leigh-Anne went over the list of books she needed for the day and checked her backpack one more time.

The girl whispered to herself about the things she had in her bag and then zipped it shut.

She went to her mirror to look at her reflection.

The uniform did not look bad to her. When she had first tried it on everyone had said that she looked 'adorable' and 'pretty' but to her it just looked normal.

Leigh tucked her blouse into her skirt a bit more and then pulled out a cue card from her pocket. "Hi. My name is Leigh-Anne and I like reading, music, animals, singing- hiccup-" She shook her head. "I should remove that." She said to herself. If she said that she liked to sing then someone would ask her to do so and she did not want that.

So she went back to her desk and erased the word 'singing'.

She walked up to her mirror again. "I like reading, music and animals. I can't wait to get to know all of you this year." Leigh read it over again and tried without the cue card. It was too hard so she decided to just read from it.

The girl felt so lucky to have so many people tell her about the first day of school process. She had asked Jade and Perrie a lot about it but it was Marcy- the woman who for some reason took interest in her and Sairah- who had ended up telling her that teachers often made students introduce themselves on the first day. Especially in the case of a new student.

Someone knocked on her door.

"Come in." Leigh-Anne said as she adjusted her tie.

Sairah entered. "Looking good." She held a thumb up while leaning against the doorframe.

Leigh turned to look at Sairah in her uniform. Sairah had never appeared this formal in her life. "Thanks. You too."

Sairah walked up to her and wrapped an arm around her in the mirror. "What are you doing? We should be down for breakfast."

Leigh pulled out her cue card. "Going . . . going over what I'll say to everyone once it's time for us to introduce ourselves."

Sairah snatched it and read the words. "You need a card to say this?" She laughed. "Leigh-Anne what the hell?"

Leigh took it back angrily. "Not everyone can be as carefree about this as you." She placed it in her pocket once again. "What are you gonna say when they ask us to-to come up front and . . . talk."

"To-To CoMe Up FrOnT aNd TaLk- hahaha. You're tripping over your words." Sairah shook her head. "I don't know yet. When I get there I'll think about it." She winked at her. "If you're nervous I guess I could introduce you to everyone."

"It doesn't work that way." Leigh-Anne went to her door and started heading out.

"Look who's ready for school." Evaline was just shutting her door at her back.

Roman came out too with headphones in. She was playing a game on her Nintendo switch. She nodded at Sairah and Leigh-Anne before walking down the hall.

"Everyone's acting like all of this is a big deal." Sairah said as they went down the stairs.

"Back to school is majorly hyped up so it kind of is." Evaline said.

Leigh-Anne was mumbling things to herself as she followed them. Her eyes were fixed on her shoes. Jade and Perrie had sent her encouraging messages but she was still nervous. At least they would come visit her at lunch.

"Well everyone needs to relax." Sairah saw Amanda setting a table full of food when they entered the kitchen.

"Look at the girls." Amanda clapped for all of them. "Roman and Evaline are ready to kill another year while Sairah and Leigh-Anne are prepared to smash their first one. Girls have a seat. We've got a big breakfast this morning. Eat what you can."
