After eating dinner, while we were resting at our campfire, some of our classmates were playing Ukelele, some were singing, talking, and more. We are enjoying the night and the campfire.
"Class may tanong ako." sabi ni Ms. Mara kaya napalingon kami sa kanya. "Can you tell me your reasons why do you want to win the Game of 10s? I'm asking this so when you are all unmotivated to win, we'll be able to trace back your whys."
That's a great question! Nagsimulang sumagot ang mga kaklase ko habang nakapalibot kami sa campfire.
Almost all of them, like Shaira, Rylen, and Daixon, wanted the scholarship.
Some of them chose the 2nd prize, which is the prize from their respective Houses. Freya, Violet, and Sean chose that prize.
When it's Vincent's turn to speak, I looked at him.
"I simply want to win the Game of 10s for all of you who want it." Wika ni Vincent kaya napa-awang ang bibig ko.
Our classmates got touched by what he said. I too was touched! Bigla tuloy akong napa-isip, bakit ba gusto kong manalo kami sa Game of 10s? Dahil din ba ito sa mga kaklase ko? O sa sarili ko lang na interes?
"How about you Chelsea?" Tanong ni Ms. Mara kaya napunta sa akin ang atensyon nila.
"To be honest, I just want to win the Game of 10s because I feel like it's fulfilling." Napatingin ako kay Vincent at ngumiti ako. "But because of our bonds, I now want to win the Game of 10s for all of you too. Just like what Vincent said earlier."
"Ayieee! Soulmates yan?"
We laughed it out. But my classmates were touched.
"Now class, remember your reasons whenever you want to give up. Because it will give you the boost you need to win." Sabi pa ni Ms. Mara kaya napatango kami.
Nang matapos ang usapan namin tungkol doon ay nagtipon ang ilang mga boys para magplano na sa pagkuha ng flag. I checked on them and I was glad that they agreed with Vincent's plans.
Vincent told us that Galatians have a "flag pole" in their camp, so to be able to get their flag, they will just simply get it quietly from the pole.
"What if someone saw us?" Tanong ni Sean.
"Their flag pole has three blind spots." Vincent answered as he leaned closer to the table to mark three X. "One from the kitchen sight, one from their bath, and one from this tent column."
"Woah, they're dumb as f*ck." Kumento ni Jack na napapailing.
"Uh huh, but the tricky part is the entrance. They'll notice us in an instant, but we can enter through the side bushes. That's why we'll wear black tonight so they won't notice." Wika ni Vincent.
Everyone was joyful because Vincent got back on track. He's now leading again.
Pagkatapos ng meeting ay umalis na sila habang ang iba naman sa amin ay naiwan dito sa campfire. Napatingin ako bigla sa flag namin na yakap ni Shaira habang nakikipagkwentuhan siya kay Violet. It's safe, so I sighed. Hindi naman siguro kami basta-bastang susugudin dito, 'di ba? If that happens, nandito naman ang ilang mga boys like Kier, Axel, at Daixon. Napalingon ako ulit sa mga boys na magfa-flag hunt hanggang sa maglaho na sila sa madilim na kagubatan.
