Lookout - Second Floor 11;35 AMIf Everest wasn't a victim of what Marshall went through as well, the hatred filled words he said followed by threatening violence on those same monsters from the past attacked them again, it would look like the Marshall in front of her wasn't Marshall but an imitation. The town knew him as the lovable and clumsy Dalmatian fire pup of the Paw Patrol, but beneath his jokes of whenever he pulls a clumsy mistake, lies one of the most serious pups you'll ever meet. When it comes to protecting those he cares about, his home and performing his job, only very few people or pups who are in Adventure Bay or Adventure City, for that matter, can come close to how serious Marshall can get when it comes down to it.
Their conversation was halted momentarily though, as Marshall's pup tag lit up.
"Ah sorry Everest, I'll be right back"
"Don't worry about it. I'll wait here"
As Marshall walked out, he checked who the caller was. "Captain Turbot is calling me right now?" Marshall thought to himself.
"Ahoy my spotted Dalmatian friend, Ryder was talking to me about your plan to go on the Flounder with Everest to see the calming night sky. It didn't take much time to think about, but how does at 7:30 PM today sound?"
Marshall took a moment to consider this, if he had dinner with Everest at Mr. Porter's around 5:30 PM, he'd have some time alone with Everest afterward before getting on the boat with Captain Turbot to see the sun set.
"Sure Captain, and thank you" Marshall said as the call ended.
Meanwhile, Everest was leaning against the dog door on Ryder's door out of curiosity for Marshall's conversation, and she had heard the trail end of that conversation.
"Captain Turbot was calling Marshall? I wonder what Marshall and Ryder are planning" Everest thought to herself, she truly didn't know what they were planning but to her, whatever she can do together with Marshall in the present that doesn't have to do with Ruben and Butch is something both of them can enjoy.
Her train of thought was cut off by Marshall trying to get through the dog door, but due to Everest leaning against it, he was unable to open it. "Hey uh Ev? Is the dog door blocked from the inside? I can't get it open" Marshall called out as he tried to push the dog door open.
Everest felt the door opening slightly against her, and moved. "Oops sorry Marshy, I was leaning against it by accident" she said as she moved, allowing Marshall to open the dog door up.
"Alright Ev, I need to go set something up but I'll call you when it's ready, okay?" Marshall was trying to subtly hint that he was setting up a date, but he kept it vague on purpose. He didn't want to spoil the surprise.
This saddened Everest a bit, she wanted to know what Marshall was doing but if it's meant to be a surprise, she understands how to respect that.
"Okay you cute Dalmatian, I'll wait at the lookout" Everest winked as Marshall chuckled slightly, exiting the dog door and Ryder's bedroom.
As Marshall walked down the hallway, he sighed slightly. He had been trying to hold onto a mask that he used to hide how he was truly feeling about what Ruben and Butch had done to him and Everest now, but like it already had for Everest, Marshall's mask was slipping.
"It's probably only a matter of time before I snap. To be honest, I'm surprised Everest was able to keep her mask of emotions on as long as she did" Marshall thought to himself as he entered the elevator and began going down.
A few seconds later, the elevator was back at the base floor of the lookout and Marshall saw Ryder and the other six pups grouped up in the living room.
