(S3-C6) Deafening Echoes

The strike team kept their weapons raised as Snow climbed up the fire escape on the side of an apartment, helping the Golden Retriever to get a vantage point on the nearby buildings as he looked down the scope, trying to spot any Cobalt Order activity as he peered through the scope. "I see movement over in that alley. Two guards are making their way out of it in an armored white SUV. They're heading north, towards a red car parked outside of what appears to be another old warehouse." Snow reported as Scarlet lowered her SMG and looked through the binoculars coming out of her pup pack towards the armored vehicle.

"Maybe we shouldn't engage the hostiles yet? I think we should report this information to the other strike team and regroup." Odin said out loud as Thunder, Snow and Scarlet nodded their heads.

"Good idea Odin, maybe we should wait for the other strike team to arrive first and report this to them. We don't want our intel to be compromised before we all regroup." Scarlet said as the team retreated from the current position they were holding, intending to get back in contact with Marshall, Everest and Zeus so that the seven teammates were all on the same page.

Thunder spoke into the microphone on his helmet as he tried to get access to the team communications line, but he was only hearing static. As far as he could tell, it was completely jammed by something, which wasn't exactly unusual in a city during war, but he wasn't used to this kind of lack of connectivity either. What could possibly be jamming the team's private communication lines?

"Damnit! I'm only getting static when I try and get in contact with the other strike team. Something's jamming our comms." Thunder said as he looked over to Odin, Snow and Scarlet.

"Wait! Up above us! It's a drone! I think it's the thing jamming our comms. Snow, you know what to do." Scarlet said as Snow readied his sniper rifle and fired at the drone that was above them, immediately making it explode as it fell to the street right in front of them.

Once the drone exploded, the strike team's communication systems began working again as the four pups began moving through the streets of Adventure City again.

"Let's get ready to reconvene with Marshall, Zeus and Everest, okay? Now that we know the general parts of the city the hostiles are mainly occupying, it's time we regroup and take the fight to them." Thunder said as the other three pups nodded in agreement as they got back on the rooftops of Adventure City.

As the team jumped across the rooftops, they quickly spotted another drone and took aim at it before taking aim once more at the other two.

Scarlet had been watching for the second drone to land on one of the buildings that she knew would be crawling with Cobalt Order members as she watched it descend. Once it touched the ground she immediately fired at it and then jumped off the roof just as the building exploded.

As the four Whispers landed on the ground, they all did combat rolls as they picked themselves up off the street.

"It seems like there are way more Cobalt Order soldiers here than we originally thought. The city is still swarming with them." Scarlet said as she ran forward to join her teammates.

As the four members of the strike team moved silently through the city, they saw dozens of Cobalt Order soldiers patrolling the streets around them, many of whom were carrying assault rifles and shotguns.

Each member of the team held their breaths as they continued to move past the Cobalt Order patrols, making sure not to make any noise. Finally, they reached the end of the block as they turned left, going down a side street as they continued to go down the sidewalk.

"Alright team, let's get moving. We need to rendezvous with Marshall, Zeus and Everest." Odin said as the other three pups nodded their head in agreement.
