Scarlet flew her helicopter through the sky of Adventure Bay as the other six Whispers sat on the two landing rails, each pup's four legs and tails dangling off as they kept their vests, helmets and pup packs on.
Slowly, the team's island base came into view, and Scarlet spoke into the microphone on her helmet. "Okay team, we're resting up at Echo before we fly out to Adventure City tomorrow, got it?" Scarlet said as the six pups sitting on the landing rails looked back at the lookout, Marshall and Everest being especially heartbroken.
The two of them were so close to fully reuniting with the Paw Patrol, but they couldn't yet. There was far too much at stake for a proper reunion to take place right now. The Cobalt Order had to be stopped. No matter the cost. And to do that, the seven Whispers had to fully focus on their mission.
"Marshy, are we going too far with all of this? When my mask went down from my helmet at the lookout, and Ryder saw my face, I felt so fucking guilty about leaving my friends in the Paw Patrol behind again. I'm sure you feel a similar way." Everest said as she continued to sit next to Marshall on one of the helicopter's landing rails.
"Ev... with Ruben, Butch and Queen on the loose and what the Cobalt Order did to both of us, to the other Whispers and all of animal kind, I don't think I can stop until they're all dead." Marshall said as he cried out, those words were true, but he was beginning to doubt that they could even finish all of this. After all, they're seven pups, against a massive international criminal syndicate, what could they really hope to accomplish, other than heading straight to all of their deaths?
"Marshall, listen. We have to get the information we need to stop the Cobalt Order. Then once everything is over, maybe we can all come back home and just... try living a normal life." Everest said as she moved closer to him. She knew he didn't mean it like that, not anymore.
The seven Whispers walked into their base from the helipad as they went down the stairs, getting into the main part of their base as they saw their firing range. They headed towards the firing area, where the seven of them gathered around.
"Alright team, we'll make the first strike tomorrow morning when we head to Adventure City. We'll be flying into downtown Adventure City and then proceeding with caution. The city is a Cobalt Order hot zone now." Thunder said as he took charge of making preparations for what could be the final mission the seven of them ever go on as Whispers. He wasn't about to lose any more friends. Not to some damn criminal syndicate anyway.
"We have to be careful. That's all we can do. If we get caught, I have no doubt that we'll be killed without a second thought." Odin said as he walked up to the rest of the group, his tone of voice serious.
"Right! But for now, we should rest up until tomorrow. Tomorrow will be the beginning of the end for this conflict." Everest said as the rest of the team barked their weapons out at the firing range, opening fire as Zeus continued to get used to his crossbow.
Once the Whispers were done at the firing range, the seven pups went into their sleeping bags as they took their pup packs and helmets off, storing them safely for when they were needed tomorrow. It was still only the evening, but with how vicious the mission in Adventure City was certainly going to get; the seven Whispers needed all of the sleep they could get. But to be safe, all seven pups kept their vests on while they drifted off to sleep.
Meanwhile, Ryder and the rest of the Paw Patrol are at their lookout, cleaning up everything that had been damaged during the battle from all sides. Rocky, Chase, Skye, Rubble, Zuma, Tracker all worked together as Ryder and Rebecca, the two human members of the Paw Patrol worked together to help out as well.
But there was something that lingered on Chase's mind, even after the attack on the lookout that the Cobalt Order did. "Ryder, I was looking at the camera feed from my helmet. Those two pups that had their masks dropped unintentionally were definitely Marshall and Everest." Chase said as he zoomed in on the feed, the still images of the camera feed unpixelated as Ryder, Rebecca and all of the other pups could clearly see it. Those were clearly Marshall and Everest in Flame and Hurricane's gear. They were the same pups all along, and somehow the Paw Patrol didn't notice.
