"Hey team, I'm back." Chase said as he walked up next to the other pups and Ryder in one of the many streets of Adventure City, each pup had their guns drawn as they carefully moved forward, Ryder crouching down as well to not make any noise.
"Chase what happened? We heard you talking to some other pups." Rocky asked as he aimed down the scope of his sniper rifle, shooting a drone out of the sky as its red light flashed at the team.
"I was speaking to Flame and Hurricane, and confirmed that they're Marshall and Everest, our missing teammates. I asked the two of them to come back with me to all of us, but they declined and said that we'd be far too big of a group for this mission." Chase said as he cried slightly, he really did miss Marshall and Everest. But he was now even more determined than before to end this conflict, no matter what.
The others nodded with frowns on their faces as the team of six pups and Ryder walked through Adventure City, a once bustling metropolis that you could actually have fun in, but now it was reduced to any other war zone because of the Cobalt Order.
Okay team, we're heading to our Adventure City lookout. Let's focus on that objective, everything else can come later." Ryder said as the pups nodded, the visors from their helmets going down as they scanned the nearby streets for hostile activity. "Rocky keep a close eye out for any drones. Use an EMP or shoot it down if you spot one."
"Roger that, Ryder." Rocky replied back as he shot another drone out of the air as it fell to the ground and exploded.
With that, the Adventure City lookout slowly got into their view. It appeared to be clear of hostile activity, which was a relief to the Paw Patrol. With any luck, they wouldn't have to fight their way into their Adventure City base and maybe regain communications with Liberty. The team hadn't heard from her since this whole conflict started, and they were worried about the Dachshund.
The seven of them walked across the street and towards the building where their headquarters were located, luckily it seemed safe enough so they entered. Once inside the base though, the team saw the sight that greeted them was anything but. There were bodies everywhere inside the lookout, and some of those bodies were still moving and breathing, but the rest weren't. The team didn't know why all of these bodies were in the lookout of all places, but if they had to guess, they entered the lookout to seek shelter from the conflict raging in the rest of Adventure City.
"Holy shit!" Skye muttered under her breath as she looked around, taking in the scene before her. There was dead dogs, dead soldiers, dead citizens, blood, gunpowder, everything. She hated it, the smell, the blood, and most importantly, the lifeless expressions that adorned their faces. It all made Skye and the others want to puke, but somehow, they held their composure; if not barely.
"Team, we can't stay at this lookout. We have to regroup with Rebecca and get back on the Air Patroller." Ryder said as the pups nodded, getting ready to head back outside of the base.
The team headed outside of their base as Ryder used his pup pad and got in contact with Robo Dog, telling it to land the Air Patroller near them so the team could recollect their composure in a stressful situation like this.
Once the the Air Patroller landed, they stepped out and got to the plane, and as soon as they did Skye took a step away from the Air Patroller and threw up her breakfast over the edge of the airstrip. That wasn't going anywhere. She couldn't help it, seeing those dead animals, knowing they were just people who died because of the war, it was too much for her.
She felt someone grab her paw and pull her away from the aircraft, she turned around to see who it was and saw it was Ryder. He pulled her into a hug and rubbed her fur comfortingly, trying to calm her down as her other teammates joined them in a group hug.
