In the dead of night, the lights of the lookout still shined brightly as Marshall and Everest turned away, walking towards the beach of Adventure Bay.

Both Marshall and Everest knew there was no turning back here, it was go time. If Ruben and Butch hadn't attacked City Hall, maybe this breaking point wouldn't have been reached right now, but ever since Ruben and Butch crawled back into Marshall and Everest's lives, both of them were always on the knifes edge of reaching the breaking point for weeks on end.

But as the lookout became smaller in the distance as the two pups crossed the bridge slowly, one paw step at a time, Everest's tag lit up with a call which sent a wave of panic through both pups. Did the team know they had left the lookout? Were they in trouble?

They would quickly find out as Everest answered the call and saw Captain Turbot's face near the Flounder.

"Ahoy Everest! I managed to fix the Flounder's engine, I know it's late but can you and Marshall come to the Flounder? I want to make it up to the both of you."

This immediately allowed Marshall and Everest to take a sigh of relief. They weren't in trouble, and Captain Turbot was able to help them now.

"Will do Captain, we were actually heading there already. We'll be there soon! Off the trail, Everest won't fail!" Everest called out, smiling as she did, happy that things were falling into place.

With that, Captain Turbot hung up and the two pups continued moving across the bridge.

But  after Captain Turbot hung up the call, no further words were exchanged  between the two pups as they crossed the entire bridge. Once they did,  they walked on the sidewalk to avoid any potential traffic as the beach grew closer.

But as the two pups walked onto the sands of  the beach, Marshall had an idea. "Everest, before anything I'm planning to  go and talk to Captain Turbot so he knows the situation." Marshall said,  running ahead of Everest as he did.

Captain Turbot had been  looking at the Flounder as he heard the sound of paw steps in the sand.  Turning around to face them, he saw Marshall and Everest.

"Ahoy  Marshall and Everest! Like I said over my call with Everest, I want to  make it up to both of you for not being able to help you two out yesterday. Is there anything I can do?"

"Well normally we wouldn't someone to be concerned about making it up to us, especially for a reason like this, there was nothing you could do Captain, the oil leak would've made it unsafe to use the Flounder. You did the right thing, but we do need some help." Marshall admitted, looking out to the open sea as he spoke.

Curious about what Marshall was looking at, Captain Turbot looked away from Marshall and Everest and saw the island he had taken the pups to a few days ago, barely in view but visible.

"We need to get back to that island base before 8:00 AM today Captain, do you think you can help us out?" Marshall asked, hoping Captain Turbot would be able to sail smoothly at this time of day.

"Well I can definitely do that, do you two need a return trip as well?" Captain Turbot asked, knowing that was important information to have.

Everest was the one to speak up in reply to that. "I don't think so, we'll be heading to Barkingburg with the pups who are at that base. They need both of us to help them there later today." Everest said, it wasn't completely a lie, if anything it was the truth, but Captain Turbot wouldn't expect the reasons that they have for going to Barkingburg, but thankfully he didn't question it further.

"Well alright then. I'm ready to set sail when you two are."

Marshall and Everest jumped onto the Flounder as he said this, feeling the small boat lurch forward as the recently fixed engines kicked in. Once they landed on the Flounder, the chilly air set into their fur, making the two pups instinctively shiver as they tried to keep themselves warm. As they did, both of their unconscious minds brought the two pups closer to one another, snuggling into each other's fur. Both pups cuddled often, but it was usually something both decided to do. This time it was their subconscious minds that took full control.
