As Marshall continued to walk through the hospital, the note intended for the patient stayed in his medical pup pack as he neared the room Ryder, Chase and the patient are in.
"I'm not sure how Ryder will react to Skye needing Fentanyl patches, but it's what the anesthesiologist said the patient needed." Marshall said out loud as he got right up to the door. "I failed my friends once, never again." Marshall thought to himself as he opened the door, making a quick bark to bring the note the pharmaceutical wing gave him out.
"H-Hello Flame, w-what's the prescription for my pup?" Ryder asked, trembling as he thought about everything that had happened recently.
"Fentanyl patches." Marshall said as the pup pack extended the note towards Ryder. "We're prescribing three patches with a safe amount of the opioid to your pup, when that runs out, I need you to regain contact with me so we can do a follow up meeting and make an informed reassessment."
As Marshall spoke, Ryder scanned the note. It provided the dosage of the Fentanyl in the patches, and instructions on when and how to use them.
Ryder of course knew the reputation Fentanyl has as a street drug, but he also knew thanks to Marshall that it was an invaluable opioid in the medical field. "Understood Flame, where should we go to get the prescription?" Ryder asked as Flame sat down.
"The nearby pharmacy two blocks down will have the prescription ready today," the Dalmatian said as he continued to sit down, scanning the room and seeing the expressions on the faces of Ryder, Chase and Skye.
"I do have to remind you though. Use one patch for a twenty four hour period, at which point you have to remove it and put a new one on over the three day period." Flame said as Skye got up out of the bed, she was still in pain, but she would continue to be in this pain if they didn't get the prescription she needed.
"Flame, thank you so much for h-helping my friend. I don't know what I would've done if you didn't," Chase said as he shook those thoughts off. Skye was okay, that was all that mattered to the Shepherd in that brief period of time.
"It's just what I do. Always and forever. I'm glad I was able to help," Marshall said as he smiled. To the Dalmatian, this felt like a weight was lifted off of his shoulders. There was still a lot more that had to be done before he could go back to his home in Adventure Bay with Everest, but this was a big step in the right direction.
"With that however, I must be going. I have to help some other patients in the hospital, I wish you well with the healing process, Skye. Make sure to regain contact with me after the Fentanyl patches run out," Marshall said as he gave radio a code to Ryder that would allow for this to happen by getting in contact with the pup tag he's using right now.
"Thank you for everything you and everyone else in the medical field do, Flame." Ryder said as Flame walked out of the room and Marshall came out.
"Team, come in. This is Flame. I'm done in BGH and I'm exiting the building now." Marshall said as he waited for the rest of the team to answer his call.
On the other end of the call, Everest picked up as she stood up next to Odín outside of the hospital.
"Copy that Flame, me and Odín are still waiting outside of BGH." Hurricane replied as Flame took the hospital gear he was wearing off and put his main gear back on. Compared to the hospital pup pack he was using not too long ago, the main one he used in the puppy mill felt heavier in more ways than one.
The weapons themselves added extra weight to the pup pack that was actually physical weight, but there was also the other weight that was now back on Marshall's back, and it was one every person or pup who carries weapons knows about.
