I wore sunglasses the next day, I was tired and my eyes were bloodshot. The dream kept me up all night. It was pouring outside, lightning and thunder blending in with the dreary skies. The mood was depressing for most people, but for me it made me feel grateful, safe and secure to be under a roof. Not outside getting ammonia, being beaten by the hail. I sighed, it was peaceful, quiet and calming. The rapid rain tapping on the windows made me concentrate on the beat.
Tap, Tap Tap, Tap. Tap, Tap Tap, Tap.
The slow steady beat kept my thoughts away from the dream I had. Of me being chased by my stalker and being slaughtered by him. Not a very good way to end life, in fear and worry. If I were to die I wouldn't be thinking about the things I could've done if I kept going on, that would be depressing. I would be thinking about all the memories I had and crack jokes, I would die laughing and smiling with friends and family.. Or I mean Andy. See this is what I mean by depressing, I sighed again.
I stepped away from the window and made my way to the balcony. I was instantly being thrown towards me from above, hail was beaten on me and im pretty sure I have a bruise on my head now, damn.
I ran back inside, I'm not going to school today.
I called up Adam and he picked up on the the third ring, "Hey!" He called from the other end of the line. "You seen the rain?" I asked. "No, Sky I live under a rock." He said sarcastically and added more, "No scratch that, people who live under rock can tell its raining." I chuckled, "Okay whatever, are you going to school?" I asked. "ha! no, you?" I snorted. "I'll take that as a no.." He laughed. "Whatever, I'm going to sleep for another four hours, please wake me up at Ten." I pleaded. "Yeah sure." I said a quick thanks before hanging up and throwing myself on the bed going to sleep.
*~*~*
I woke up the ringing of my cell, I groaned and ignored the call. The phone began to ring again and I continued to ignore it. It finally rang third time and I picked it up, obviously pissed. "What!" I yelled into the phone. "Sklyar?" I heard a raspy voice say. The world suddenly stopped for me, I knew exactly who this was. "Skylar is that you?" I heard him spoke again. My breathing became heavy, I had a lost for words. "Skylar I can hear you breathing, speak to me."
"Hello Mathew." I used his whole name, he was no longer Matt to me. "Is that you Sky?" I heard desperation in his voice. "No." I said and quickly hung up. I bit my lip, should I have done that?
The phone rang again and I picked it up fast. "What?!"
"Sky?" I heard Adam say. "Oh uh Adam? Sorry." I apologized. "I'm coming over with donuts." He said. "What?" I asked but he had already hung up. I heard the doorbell ring a few seconds later and saw Adam standing there with home cut donuts. "How the hell?"
"I don't take no for an answer so I called late and got here early." He smiled. "Come in?" It was meant to be a statement but it came out more of a question. He walked right in and set the donuts on the counter. I grabbed a chocolate one and started eating. "So I was planning on waking you up on my way here.. Why are you awake already?" He asked about to devour a donut. "Can't I just wake up on my own?" I rolled my eyes. He gave me a blank face, "No." I sighed. "Well, I did." I said chomping on my breakfast. "Well, you can tell me you're my.." His voice faded at the end of the sentence. "Your what?" I raised a brow at him. He gulped and continued, "Friend." He choked out the word. "Uhm okay." I brushed it off and continued eating.
I chose not to tell him about the phone call with Mathew. I was going to tell him that I believe we don't have the same biological father, but I never got to it. Now he pays, literally, the hole in the wall must have costed a fortune. I don't even know if I want to talk to him now. I don't things between us are very pleasant, his voice was raspy. He sounded like a smoker, either that or he just ate something really nasty that's still lodged in his throat. I have to admit.. I feel bad for leaving him hanging like that, he's still my only family who's actually you know.. Alive.
