Cheryl remained in a bit of a daze for the remainder of the day and throughout the night as well, finding it so strange that she'd run into Tre after she'd been thinking about him so much, and finding it equally strange that now he and his sister would be coming to her birthday party the following evening. It was just so surreal now. Even now, as she lay in her bed, thinking back over the times she and Tre had, the memory of how they'd broken up had often played on her mind..
And was still playing on her mind now...

"Cheryl..Chez.."
There she was again, completely spacing out , overthinking about everything - especially the recent disagreement she and Tre had, had. She didn't know what was going on with her, but it was as if that, despite having everything, she felt so down and isolated that she just didn't know what to do. She just wanted to go and escape to the UK forever, with Tre of course.
"Yeah?" she asked, tearing her gaze away from the ocean. There he was, her six-four tall, American boyfriend, Tre; his muscular body towering over her, his big brown eyes full of concern as they melted into hers.
"What is it? What's on your mind?" he asked. She shrugged, looking back out at the ocean. She felt Tre's hand enclose around hers; she bit her lip.
"Is this still about last night?" he asked. She shook her head, still not looking at him.
"No; it's just about a whole different situation now." she said quietly. She then looked up at him, sighing out.
"Tre, I'm so lost." she quietly admitted, shaking her head.
"What do you mean?" he asked. She sighed, shrugging her shoulders.
"I have everything, Tre; so why do I feel so lost and alone and scared in the world? Let's face it, I can't move here with you, you can't move there with me - I don't know how we're going to make another month apart when we've just spent two weeks apart, and it's not fair on you because I'm always starting on you aren't I? I just don't even know anymore, baby; I don't know." she sighed, sitting on the lounger. Tre sat down beside her, taking her hand in his.
"Cheryl, baby I want to help you so much, and I'm so sorry I can't come back with you; I wish I could - but baby, you need to go see your family, go back to the roots, Chez." he told her, stroking her hand gently. Cheryl linked her fingers with his before looking up at him.
"Baby, I love you so much you know, and I wish things were a bit easier with us, but baby I can't have you drop your work for me so don't even think about it. I don't know Tre, I just don't know." she said.
"I love you too, Chez; and I'll do anything to help you - even if...If we have to take a little break or something." he said before going a bit quiet at the end, still looking at her. Cheryl swallowed hard; this is actually what she'd been thinking - maybe they needed a little break, she needed to figure some things out.
"I..I..I was kind of thinking the same thing." she told him. He nodded, swallowing a bit as well. He knew they'd probably both been thinking the same thing for a while, but neither of them had been ready to give up the amazing relationship they both had. They were still madly in love, but they knew a little break would do them good.
"I still love you, Tre; I always will." she told him. He pulled her into his lap, cradling her gently as the two shared a huge cuddle, Tre burying his head into her neck and lightly kissing her skin.
"I love you, Cheryl; I always will." he whispered, the two of them holding each other for dear life, knowing that they had to let go..
Just for a little while...
