As the sun began rising over the Los Angeles skyline early that Monday morning, Tre groaned quietly to himself as he could hear his phone ringing. He sighed out and rolled over, not even bothering to see who it was as he answered,
"Yo?"
"Tre; bro you still in bed? It's six-thirty; doesn't your flight leave at like eight-thirty? I was just making sure you were up and seeing if you still wanted a ride to the airport?" the cheerful voice of Tyrell chattered away down the phone. Tre rolled his eyes; since Tyrell had kids, early mornings were literally nothing for the father of two. Tre, on the other hand, had zero responsibilities which meant early mornings weren't all that great in his opinion. However, he was flying to New Jersey for his sister's birthday which was the following day, so he had to get up.
"Dude I'm getting up now; yeah I still need a ride if it's not too much trouble." He replied, burying his face back into his pillow and closing his eyes.
"I do apologize from interrupting you from a dream of Cheryl, but I'll be there in about half an hour." Tyrell teasingly replied before chuckling at the end. Tre smirked; his friends knew how whipped he was, how much he loved his beautiful Geordie girlfriend – how often she appeared in his dreams.
"Whatever jackass; see you in half an hour, bro." he chuckled before hanging up the phone. He then sat up and ran his hands over his face, before quickly getting up and darting off to the bathroom to shower...
Once he had showered, he got dressed in a pair of camouflage cargo shorts, a white t-shirt, and green and white Jordans. He teamed his look with a khaki snapback, and put his denim jacket with the hood on as well to give him a cool, trendy look that he always pulled off effortlessly. He had literally just lugged his bag out into the hallway when his phone buzzed, a text message from Tyrell displayed on the screen;
<<Tyrell: 7:01am – I'm outside, and you know your street be trippin so hurry up before they put a boot on my car or some shit lol>>
Tre smirked to himself, shaking his head in despair before quickly making sure all of his electrics and other things were shut off. He then grabbed his keys and wandered out, locking the door behind him and then going downstairs. He wandered outside of his apartment building and put his bag in the backseat of Tyrell's car then got into the passenger seat; the two men sharing a handshake straight away.
"How's it going then, bruh? You're almost like a stranger now with working and seeing the Geordie girl again; if you hadn't come over last week for fajitas, I'd have completely forgotten you, bruh." Tyrell joked. Tre burst out laughing, punching his friend in the arm.
"Bruh if you had Cheryl, would you make any contact with the outside world?" he raised an eyebrow. Tyrell didn't respond; he simply nodded his head, thinking Tre had a point.
"Well you seem hella happy so I can't even joke or nothing; so how's it been going? Y'all good?" he asked as he merged into the Los Angeles rush hour traffic. Tre nodded as he began scrolling through is phone, knowing he had an unread message from Cheryl waiting for him.
"Yeah man it's great; it's like no time has passed and we've just fallen right back into where we were – and the make-up sex is off the scale so yeah life is great," he sensibly replied before joking, which made Tyrell laugh as he listened to his friend, "But I miss her like crazy though."
"I bet you do." Tyrell smirked, glancing over at Tre. He then laughed some more as Tre simply stuck his middle finger up in response. Tre chuckled as well before finally reading Cheryl's message, which had been sent some hours ago.
