It had been a long, sleepless night for both Cheryl and Tre; Cheryl hardly being able to sleep after having had a nightmare after so long, and Tre waking up at regular intervals to check on her even though half the times he woke up, she was still awake and just staring at the walls and at the ceiling, deep in thought. When the two finally got up around ten in the morning, they were still a bit tired, and really the only reason they were getting up as because Joan had knocked on the door and told them to get something to eat.
"Baby, can you wait for me? To help me down the stairs?" Cheryl cutely asked as she looked up at Tre. He nodded, kissing her forehead.
"Of course I can, sweetheart." He replied. Cheryl nodded her head, before slowly getting out of bed and making her way to the bathroom. Tre simply lay there waiting for her, sighing to himself and rubbing his hand over his head. He just hoped that they would catch Jason again or something could be done to keep him away from Cheryl, because he wouldn't be able to live with himself if something ever happened to her.
Cheryl soon returned from the bathroom, leading Tre to get up and give her a cuddle quickly, which took her by surprise. Still, she cuddled him back, lightly kissing his cheek.
"What's this for?" she mumbled, clinging to him.
"Just because I love you." Tre replied. Cheryl smiled at him and kissed his cheek holding onto him as they made their way out of the room. Tre helped her down the stairs, before the two of them made their way into the dining room. Steve, Lee, and Mark were already at the table, as well as Garry. Joan was putting the food onto the table.
"Morning twinkle toes, and morning Tre; you guys alright?" Lee greeted, smiling as Cheryl squeezed his shoulder.
"I'm alright, bro." Tre replied, shaking hands with him before shaking hands with Steve and Mark as well.
"I'm as alright as I can be." Cheryl replied as she sat down, smiling as Tre squeezed her shoulder before going to help Joan finish putting the breakfast out.
"I understand that." Lee smiled sadly as he pinched her cheek.
"And you, twinkle toes, enough of you scaring us all half to death – I had blonde hair and less wrinkles before I started working for you, now look at me; I'm an old man due to stress you put me through." Steve chimed in, joking on with her. Everyone had to laugh, even Cheryl, who reached across the table and pinched his cheek. Joan and Tre wandered in with the rest of the food, smirking as everyone was chuckling.
"What's the joke? What did we miss?" Joan asked as she squeezed Tre's arm as a thank you.
"We've just had to tell your daughter to stop putting us through these situations because it's making us old." Mark smirked, making both Joan and Tre laugh as they too sat down.
"Exactly; believe me if I wasn't always dying my hair this color and using moisturizer, I'd have grey hair and wrinkles too with the amount of stress she gives me," Joan joked as well before continuing, "Nah thank God she's alright though; I don't know what I would do if something happened to her."
Cheryl and Garry both raised an eyebrow and exchanged a glance, before both of them playfully put their hands on their chests as they looked at their mother in shock. Everyone was chuckling at the playful pair while Joan was rolling her eyes.
"What are you two clowns doing?" Mark chuckled, having become used to Cheryl and Garry's double act now and found it quite amusing.
"It's just a bit of a shock, Mam basically said she loves me in her own way – and she never does that." Cheryl replied as she breathed out.
