As the alarm began blaring throughout the room the next morning, Cheryl groaned loudly to herself and rolled over, fiddling around for her phone to stop the irritating sound that was already getting on her last nerve. She managed to turn the sound off, before flicking the light on and sitting up properly so she wouldn't go back to sleep.
The sound of the alarm and the loud groan from Cheryl had disturbed the two sleeping Chihuahuas that were comfortable at the foot of Cheryl's bed, leading the two dogs to come scrambling across the bed up to their owner for an early morning cuddle. Coco rested herself in Cheryl's lap while Buster curled up beside Coco, resting his head on Coco's back. Cheryl smiled at them, rubbing her hand behind Buster's ears then behind Coco's ears.
"Let's call daddy and see if he's up, eh?" she spoke softly to them. Cheryl reached over and grabbed her phone. She knew that it was three in the morning over there, but she also knew that sometimes Tre would be up half the night as there were times where he couldn't sleep.
However, just as she was about to at least text him to see if he was up, her call screen popped up – 'Tre'
She pouted to herself before pressing the green phone symbol to answer...
"Hello?"
"Cheryl!" Tre immediately responded. A red flag popped up in Cheryl's mind; she could hear the distress in her man's voice.
"Tre? Hey baby; what's wrong?" she immediately responded. Tre didn't answer for a second and Cheryl could tell that he was trying to compose himself. He was taking deep breaths, as if he'd just woken up from a nightmare or something.
"Tre." Cheryl spoke again.
"Baby, just tell me – are you okay?" he asked straight away. Now Cheryl was concerned; why would she not have been okay?
"Uh yes baby; I'm absolutely fine – I just woke up actually," she replied before continuing, "Tre, is something wrong?"
"I just really needed to make sure you're okay." He replied, breathing out. Cheryl raised an eyebrow; she knew there was something else behind this.
"Tre, what happened? Baby what's going on?" she asked him, laying back against her pillows. Coco and Buster both moved and lay back down at the foot of the bed again whilst Cheryl began talking to Tre. She knew she was running a bit late, but she wanted to make sure Tre was okay first.
"Cheryl, I had a nightmare," he began slowly, before taking a deep breath then continuing, "Some guy had gotten you; I don't know if it was Jason or who – I just know it wasn't Ashley because I do know what Ashley looks like and it wasn't him. But you Skyped me from your dressing room and some guy was holding you hostage – you were telling me you loved me and that if you died, you wanted me to know about the baby and all this other shit. Like, I don't know – it felt so real – I had to call and ask if you were okay."
Cheryl felt like all the color had drained from her face and felt like her mind had gone blank as she took in everything Tre had told her. She knew she shouldn't pay it much attention, but something about this was weird. Why was Tre dreaming about her being in danger of some sort? And why had he specifically named out that it could possibly have been Jason? She knew that Jason had been out of jail for a little while now, but obviously she had no idea where he was or anything like that.
And what was this about a baby?
"Cheryl." Tre spoke again. Cheryl snapped out of the little trance she'd slipped into before speaking up again.
"Baby, please don't worry – it was just a dream, and I'm okay; everything is okay. I promise honey, everything is fine – I'm safe and sound in my bed, there's loads of security at X-Factor; I'm okay baby." Cheryl reassured him. Tre breathed out, before speaking again.
