Later in the evening, Cheryl was fast asleep on he sofa and Tre was pottering around the kitchen, making himself a bit to eat whilst humming a little tune quietly to himself. He was in his own little world, when his phone suddenly started ringing loudly on the counter beside him. He quickly wiped his hands on a tea towel before grabbing his phone, smiling as he saw his mother's face, before then answering it quickly before it woke Cheryl.

"Hey, Mom!" he greeted, quickly glancing back at Cheryl. She was still fast asleep, her lips pouted out adorably which was making Tre's heart melt.

"Hey child; how are you today? How's my darling Cheryl?" Shirley cheerfully asked.

"I'm good, Mom; no need in complaining. Cheryl's not good though - she's ill, she's got a head cold and strep throat going on all at once. You know she'd have shouted down the phone if she was alright; she's conked out right now." Tre replied as he frowned to himself, thinking about his girlfriend.

"Aw bless her heart; send her my love. I can text you that chicken and dumplings soup recipe if you like? Maybe that'll make her feel better." Shirley offered. Tre chuckled a bit, rolling his eyes. He had to admit, though, he loved how even from far away, Shirley had an idea to take care of Cheryl.

"Not a bad idea, yeah text it to me as soon as we hang up - but I draw the line at making dumplings. That's grandma's territory right there; I'll just run to the corner store and buy some." he chuckled softly as he finished cooking up his omelette. Shirley laughed a bit; though she couldn't really disagree.

"I can't disagree there, son; go buy some and leave the actual making dumplings to your grandmother," she giggled before continuing, "You know she's going crazy about wanting to go back home now. She's insisting on going back home - obviously they've fixed her window and stuff and now she's damn near ready to just pack all her things and go back home. I'm just having a hard time about letting her go back home."

"Aw damn, I knew it wouldn't be long before she was ready to go back - she's probably going insane about the fact that she can't have her normal glass of wine before bed because you don't have any in the house. That's all it is really." Tre chuckled away. He grabbed his plate and put it on the kitchen bar counter that he had, before getting himself a drink as well as he listened to his mother talk away.

"That's all it is; I even offered to go get her a bottle and she was like; No, I'd rather have my own. Basically in hindsight, your grandmother is absolutely fine now and totally back to normal." Shirley laughed away on the other end of the phone. Tre laughed quietly as he took a bite out of his tasty omelette.

"I'm just glad she's alright and glad those jerks are in jail; I worry about my old gran though, even though I know she's perfectly capable of taking care of herself." he said.

"I worry about her too, but yeah I know she's capable of taking care of herself - but she's my mom and she's getting older so of course I'll worry."  Shirley replied. Tre was then about to say something else, but then heard Cheryl's sleep-laced groans of, "Urgh...Tre."

"Uh oh, hang on Mom.." Tre spoke down the phone before looking over at Cheryl, "Sorry princess, am I too loud? Are you okay?"

"It hurts." Cheryl frowned, her bottom lip trembling slightly. Tre gave her a sad look before quickly rounding off the call to his mother.

"Mom, I'll call you back later - I have a princess to be looking after." he said, standing up and strolling over to Cheryl. He chuckled slightly when she instantly stood up and cuddled into his chest, her arms tight around him.

"Alright, baby; call me later. Love you both; bye bye!" Shirley replied.

"Love you, momsie; bye." he replied, before hanging up. He then tossed his phone aside before then wrapping his other arm around his girlfriend.
