"Lily, did I or did I not say that I wanted to celebrate my birthday here, in England? Seriously that was not code for 'go ahead and plan Cheryl's birthday party in Vegas for three days time..' Does anyone listen to me? Lily, answer me because I know you're here!" The shouting voice of a very annoyed Geordie echoed through the plush London apartment she'd just let herself into on a cloudy, rainy afternoon in South London.

Cheryl had already had a relatively long morning full of meetings about her upcoming album, but then as she'd been on the phone with her best friend, Nicola, and Nicola had accidentally slipped up and had begun asking Cheryl if they were having a pool party in Vegas or what. Cheryl had demanded instantly to know what Nicola was talking about, and Nicola had ended up telling her.

"Sorry dimples, I was tidying up. Anyways, why you shouting?" Lily smirked, coming out of her bedroom, where she had actually been packing her case and thinking up a plan. She had, of course, heard Cheryl's every word, but she was still quite amused.

"You know damn well why I'm shouting! Don't play stupid either, Nicola slipped up and I demanded she tell me it all. What the hell? I said no, I just wanted a nice dinner and a girly night! Why does no one listen to me?" she pouted, plonking herself down on the sofa, smiling slightly when Blue jumped up onto her lap instantly for a cuddle off his Auntie. Lily laughed her head off, plonking down at the other end of the sofa.

"Aw come on dimples! It'll be fun. It'll be the third year in a row; we'll call it Chezza's Birthday Hangover Part Three. Like a film." she giggled away before totally cracking up, finding herself far too funny. Cheryl just gave her a blank stare before giggling herself. She had to admit, it was a nice gesture for her friends to do this for her, even if she didn't want it. "Maybe I could be a bit more appreciative now.." She thought to herself.

"You saddo, laughing at yourself," she shook her head in despair before continuing, "But anyway, thank you seriously. I guess I could lighten up some."

"Yay! You'll enjoy yourself babe, dirty thirty plus one." Lily smiled before winking. Cheryl just pouted, shaking her head.

"Just lucky we've got time off in between now and arena auditions. Right, oh yeah don't kill the firecracker either. You know she can't keep a damn thing." she giggled. Lily bounced around in her seat, smiling.

"I know she can't, but anyway I'm happy you're happy about this else it could've been a tad bit awkward." Lily replied, shaking her head. Cheryl shot her a glance.

"More like the lot of you would have fucked off to Vegas anyway." she raised an eyebrow. Lily bit her lip.

"This is true." she giggled. Cheryl just sighed out and rolled her eyes, whipping out her iPhone as a text message popped up. Lily giggled to herself, scooting over and cuddling into her best friend.

"I really am glad you're happy about it, and I am sorry we went behind your back and done it. I just thought it would be fun, and that after a third time in Vegas in a row, then we can do something else, but I can still cancel it all if you want to stay her." she said, looking up at her. Cheryl giggled, wrapping her arm around her and squeezing

"I'm not mad really, I was just being a grump and wanting to stay home this year. I'm kinda excited come to think of it, but when do we leave? My birthday is in three days?" she asked, looking at her. Lily sat up, smirking.

"Well erm, right I was still trying to think of a plan to get you to pack tonight, but we leave tomorrow afternoon." she replied, biting her lip. Cheryl's eyes widened. Tomorrow? Leaving tomorrow? "Aah shit!" she thought.

She quickly jumped up, sticking her feet back into her heeled ankle boots before grabbing her keys from where she'd carelessly tossed them onto the counter. Lily sat up, giggling as she watched her friend rushing towards the door.

"Where you going like?" she asked. Cheryl quickly whirled around.

"Lils, you just told me we were going to Vegas tomorrow. If I leave now, I can get home in about twenty minutes and get to packing, and then be in bed by midnight!" she explained as she started opening the door. Lily just burst out laughing, glancing at her phone.

"It's only three in the afternoon." she smirked. Cheryl gave her a look as if to say, "What's your point?"

"Exactly! I need to start packing like as soon as I get home so I can at least get to bed by midnight. You know I have loads to pack! Right, bye Lils, love you!" she explained before rushing out, leaving Lily in hysterics at her crazy best friend...

Later in the night, Cheryl was still packing various items to take to Vegas with her. Bikinis, sundresses, dresses for the clubs - anything she possibly needed. She was beyond excited now that she'd actually gotten her head around the fact that she was going to Vegas to celebrate her birthday, her friends having clearly gone through quite a bit to get it organized without her knowledge, which was very sweet of them to do. However, Cheryl was also a bit gutted that her best friend, Kimberley, wouldn't be able to join her for her birthday as she was heavily pregnant and didn't need to take a long haul flight to Vegas. It would be the first time in years that Kimberley wouldn't be celebrating her birthday with her, but she had to admit that she was still excited because Sarah and her boyfriend Mark were coming along, and Nadine and her boyfriend Jason were meeting them there in Vegas.

As she put more things into her now third suitcase, Cheryl couldn't help but let her mind drift to her last time in Vegas, her 30th birthday party last year. Last year, everything had been different - sort of. She felt confident and carefree, sure, but not like it was now. But there was one major thing she had last year - love.

Tre had truly helped heal her heart when they were together, and they had spent both her 29th and 30th birthdays together, everyone truly believing it would last forever. However, just a couple weeks later, Cheryl and Tre mutually decided to end their relationship, seeing that it was best to part ways for a bit, which was relieving for Cheryl so she could deal with her own demons. Cheryl thought about him quite often, quite more than she should..

...And she would be lying if she said she didn't miss him...

Her phone suddenly buzzing loudly on the bed snapped her from her thoughts. She grabbed her phone, seeing a text from the familar name...the name she'd never changed..

...And a message that instantly brought back the memories they'd made within 14 months of a relationship...

<<Hey Cheryl? It's Tre (don't know if you still got my number)!>>
