Cheryl gasped so hard that she ended up choking, now suddenly feeling much more awake as Lee's words registered with her. Tre had heard her gasping and choking, and so turned on his back and looked up at her with his hand on her back.
"Babe, what's going on?" he asked. Cheryl didn't respond to him; she began speaking down the phone.
"Sundraj, is there nothing you can do at all? Can you stop it? Oh shit." Cheryl began to panic, her breathing starting to increase slightly. Tre sat up and rubbed her back to calm her down some, which seemed to work out a little bit.
"Cheryl, Cheryl calm down – we're trying as hard as we can to try and stop this but it might be too late. I've ordered for extra security to be with you today as the paparazzi are bound to be intense." Sundraj explained. Cheryl breathed out, going to say something else before stopping. Her mind calmed down, her heart rate calmed down – this was the final straw.
No more running; it was time to fight back – starting with going about her life.
"Do you know what he's told? What's been said?" she asked, running her hand through her hair. She heard Sundraj sigh and he frowned; this obviously wasn't good.
"Well, he's trying to say that you aren't who you say you are – that you did drugs at times with him, also talking about the baby you lost – but he's trying to say it was due to drugs and denies any abuse." Sundraj replied.
And that's when Cheryl completely exploded...
"So the fucking twat is trying to ruin my fucking image is he? Nah you know what; I'm not scared of him, I'm pissed off. Yes, I admitted that I did one drug in my entire life, the most common fucking drug – marijuana. Who the fuck is actually gonna believe that I've done any other drug? I was too scared because all my friends were dropping like flies from the drugs; nah this is stupid! And how fucking dare he say that I lost my fucking baby because of drugs? No, I lost my baby because he beat me up and left me to fucking die. I'm so – ugh!"
Tre was listening with wide eyes as Cheryl ranted away, unable to believe what he was hearing. Cheryl's crazy ex was trying to say she had done drugs herself? He knew there was no way though, as Cheryl was such an anti-drug person – hell, she was scared of drugs really after hearing all the horrible things that would happen to people and plus watching her friends drop dead from drugs. He didn't get why Jason was so hell bent on destroying Cheryl; it made him sick to his stomach.
"Yeah well, I'm gonna go to work and go about my day like normal; we'll sue him for slander or something – he's not ruining my life ever again." Cheryl eventually spoke again. She then hung up the phone and sighed out, laying back against the pillows. Tre shuffled closer and wrapped his arm over her, giving her a cuddle. Cheryl squeezed his arm, though she was still staring at the ceiling.
"I just don't get it; I don't get why he's trying to ruin my life. If this is because I pressed all those charges, then he needs to get over it – he knew what he did to me!" she ranted away, shaking her head in despair. Tre squeezed her and kissed her cheek, trying to get her to calm down.
"Baby don't worry; he won't win this battle – swear he won't. I got your back you know; always – I mean that." He explained, softly stroking her waist as he did so.
Cheryl took in every word that Tre was saying, realizing that he was right – there was no way that Jason was going to win this battle and ruin her life. She had been through enough; enough was enough now.
And she knew that with Tre by her side, she was going to be okay...
