Chapter 296

Matt's POV: As I come back up from bringing me and Gabby's plates to the kitchen (and putting them in the dishwasher), I smiled as I walked back into our room to see Gabby laying down on her side and playing with the boys (and some of their plushies) on the bed. And it was a nice sight. Heck, whenever Gabby played with our boys in bed was a nice sight. "Now that both of the boys are awake, we are playing with them?" Gabby nodded when I asked her that and just smiled at me. "Of course we are. Plus, they are just so adorable when we play in bed with them. I smiled and agreed with Gabby when she told me that, unable to disagree since it was the truth.

"God, they look so comfortable when they are in bed with you." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. "I am pretty comfortable too. I swear, these boys just make me smile so much." I nodded and smiled at her as I went to get in on my side of the bed. Feeling me get in bed, Andy turned his head and smiled at me. "Hey little guy. Did you just feel daddy get in bed with you, Noah and mommy?" Gabby looked up at me when I said that and just smiled at me. "I swear, you are so adorable when you talk to the boys like that." I nodded and smiled at Gabby when she told me that, watching Andy trying to crawl, I smiled at Gabby. "Uh oh."

Gabby then looked up at me. "What's wrong?" I started to realize I scared her and then smiled. "Take a breath and just relax. Everything's fine." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I told her that. Going to reach out, I grabbed her hand and just smiled at her. "Andy's just trying to crawl." Gabby then got alarmed and agreed with me. "Oh boy." I nodded and smiled at her. "That means he's going to be mobile." Gabby smiled and agreed with me before going to put her hand on Andy's back. "God, you are going to be a bunch of trouble aren't you little guy? You are making daddy put up a bunch of safety measures." I looked at Gabby when she said that.

"You do realize that we need baby gates and stuff now right?" I then realized that and just sighed. "I'll pick them up next time I do groceries...or go get groceries." Gabby smiled when I told her that. "God, I still can't believe they're old enough for us to need baby gates. We need at least 5 gates." I looked at her when she said that. "Where do you get 5?" Gabby then laughed. "Basement, main floor going up, second floor going down, second floor going up and our bedroom." I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "Oh lord." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I told her that. "Tell me about it. These little ones cost a lot of money."

 I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she told me that because I knew exactly what she meant. "Just wait, they are going to go up even more when we have the girls." Gabby smiled and agreed with me. "I think we should keep the boys' house clothes. Maybe we just dress up the girls when we go out. If we are just staying around the house...then they can just wear the boys' hand me downs." I smiled and agreed with Gabby when when she told me that because that was a great idea. "Oh thank god, I was worried that you were going to want a bunch of new stuff for our girls." Gabby shook her head. "I'm good with hand me downs for a while."

"Oh thank god, I was worried that I was going to have to buy a whole bunch of new stuff for our girls." Gabby shook her head when I told her that and just smiled at me. "Don't worry, I'm good for now." I smiled and agreed with me. "Still, if you find something really cute...like a daddy's little girl shirt our something, then you go ahead and buy it. Those are mandatory." Gabby agreed with me when I said that and smiled. "Just curious, when you call them your daddy's little girls...what happens if they take after you." I looked at Gabby when she said that. "You mean with wanting to be firefighters?" Gabby agreed with me when I asked her that.

I then took a breath. "Then I am just going to insist that they are in my battalion. If they want to follow in our footsteps, then I'm not going to stop them." Gabby seemed shocked when I told her that. "Really?" I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she asked me that. "You shocked?" Gabby nodded. "I was expecting you to say that you want to keep our girls safe." I agreed with her when she told me that. "And I am. And if that means that I need to try and get them in my Battalion so that they can follow their dreams, then I'm going to do just that. At the end of the day, we need to encourage our kids' dreams rather than tell them what they can't be." Gabby agreed.
