Chapter 315

Matt's POV: Once me and Gabby made our way to the couch, I smiled as I went to lay down before looking up at Gabby. Watching her grab the blanket she loves to use, I just watched as she came to cuddle up to me on our couch. Feeling her lean back against my chest as she sat down in between my legs, I smiled as I went to go wrap my arm around her waist. Putting her hand on mine, she smiled. "A little weird holding me like this now isn't it?" Looking down at Gabby, I was confused. "What do you mean babe?" Gabby laughed and smiled when I asked her that. "No bump." I just looked down and smiled when she told me that. "Well, I'm happy there's no bump. It means that we have the kids here with us." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I said that.

Laying her head back against my chest, Gabby just smiled as she cuddled up to me. Kissing the side of her head, I smiled because of how comfortable I truly was. Nothing like holding her here in my arms like this. Honestly, I am very comfortable right now. That's when I heard Camila speak to us. "Can you guys just not be adorable for a while?" Gabby laughed and agreed with her mom when she said that. "We'll try mom." She agreed and just smiled at Gabby when she said that. Meanwhile, I went to whisper into Gabby's ear. "We aren't really going to try are we?" Gabby shook her head when I asked her that and smiled. Meanwhile, I bent down and went to kiss her neck softly, teasing her a bit as I sucked on it. "Too bad we can't be in bed."

Gabby laughed and just smiled when I said that. Going to kiss the side of her head, I smiled as we both laughed. "You enjoying your birthday so far?" I nodded when Gabby asked me that and just smiled. "Yes, I love it because we are spending time with our kids." Gabby agreed with me when I said that and just smiled. Going to look at our girls as they both just relaxed in their chairs, I smiled because they are very adorable. "I can see so much of you in the girls." Gabby agreed with me when I said that and smiled as I went to wrap my arm around her waist. Going to put her hand on my arm, Gabby just smiled as we both held each other close. "So comfortable." I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she said that when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket.

I then groaned because that meant that Gabby was going to have to get up now. But rather than let me miss it, Gabby went to grab it for me. Just looking down at her, I was shocked. "Did you just..." Gabby smirked when I asked her that before going to grab look at my phone. "It's Kelly." I agreed with her when she said that before going to answer my call. "Hey Captain." Kelly laughed when I said that. "Listen, I was just making my way over to your place. You said that we're doing breakfast right since I'm doing it right after shift?" I agreed with him when he asked me that. "Yeah, I am sure that my mother can make extra pancakes for us." Camila then went to yell. "Of course I can Matt. Anything for Chicago's finest." I agreed with her. "My friend's on his way."

Gabby then went to speak up. "By the way mom, don't let Antonio hear you say that you called the CFD Chicago's finest." Me and Severide then both said something at the same time. "But we are Chicago's Finest." Gabby then turned her head and looked up at me. "Today's your birthday. Your birthday gift can have a second act if you want later." I smirked when Gabby said that before looking down and going to kiss her softly. Taking it slow with her, I smiled because of how comfortable I was with having PDA with my wife in front of my family. "I love you." Gabby agreed with me when I said and smiled at me. "I love you too." Laying her head back down on my chest, Gabby smiled as she tugged the blanket up on top of the both of us. 

Going to put my phone on my chest, I smiled as I went to wrap my arm around Gabby and then went to kiss her forehead softly. "You comfortable now baby?" Gabby agreed with me and nodded when I said that. That's when I saw Andy and Noah just concentrate on the TV. "Our boys are very helpful when it comes to us wanting to cuddle up to each other." Gabby agreed with me when I said that and just smiled at me. "And you are going to want to do this for the rest of the day aren't you?" I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she asked me that. "Of course I am, it's my birthday." That's when Severide spoke to us again. "And when we're there? You are not cuddling up to your wife. Instead, you're going to help take care of my kids so I can cud...."

I turned my head when he said that. "Did you just spend the past 7 months in the hospital?" Kelly gulped when I asked him that. "No chief, I didn't." I agreed with him and nodded before going to kiss the side of Gabby's head. "My thoughts exactly. Now, I am very comfortable with Gabby and that isn't going to change what I plan on doing right now. Now listen, I think I smell some breakfast being ready. Come here as soon as possible if you want it to be warm." Going to hung up, I laughed and just smiled as I went to kiss Gabby's cheek. "You are so funny when you talk to Severide like that." I smiled and agreed with Gabby when she told me that. That's when I heard Camila speak to me. "Breakfast is ready if you want some Matt." I agreed.

"You want to feed the boys a bit of pancakes?" Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I asked her that. Getting up, Gabby smiled at me and then went to turn around to look at me. Getting up, she smiled and then put her hand out so that she could help me up. Going to grab it, I went to get up and then smiled as I told close to Gabby. Stepping close to her, I smiled and went to intertwine our fingers. Leaning down, I went to kiss her and just smiled as I took it slow with her. "I love you." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. "I love you too." Turning around, I went to lead Gabby away and just smiled because this was a bunch of fun. And god, I love Gabby so much. Leading her towards the boys, I smiled as I bent down.

Looking at Noah, I smiled. "Hey bud, you want some of grandma's pancakes?"  He agreed with me and nodded when I asked him that. Going to pick him up, I smiled and then went to go carry him towards the kitchen. Meanwhile, Gabby went to grab Andy so that she could carry him to the kitchen too. God, I am ready to have these nice pancakes for my birthday.

Once we made our way to the kitchen, I smiled as I went to sit down at the table when I saw that Camila made specific pancakes for the boys. "What are these?" Camila smiled. "One of your friends said that your guys always made pancakes this way when you had Louie." That's when Noah turned to look at me. "Daddy, who's Louie?" Gabby got scared when Noah asked me that. She then turned to look at her mom. "SERIOUSLY MOM! I just got home from the hospital and you mention HIS NAME." Gabby then went to walk over to her and went to grab the boys' pancakes from her and then went to go give them to the boys. "Matt, feed them." I took a breath and agreed with her. "Gabby, just go upstairs. I'll be right up." Gabby agreed and ran upstairs.

Meanwhile, I took a breath and just sighed as I looked at our boys as I went to explain everything to Andy and Noah. Well, everything they needed to know at least.
