Hitting Reset Season 5: Family Life Part 3

July 8th

Back with the Caseys:
Matt's POV: As I stand in the kitchen of me and Gabby's home while watching her play with the boys in the living room, I smile as I cut up some kielbasa and cheese for her. After all, it is time for her to eat a snack this morning. But god, I still love the sight I have here in the kitchen. The way she's playing who our boys is amazing. That's when I heard Gabby speak to the boys. "Silly daddy thinks that I don't see him looking at me with adoration." I laughed when she said that and just shook my head. "Shut up, you like it babe." Gabby nodded and agreed with me. "I do."

I laughed and just smiled at her when she said that. "I love you so much." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I said that. "And I'm glad we agreed to stay out here for a bit." I nodded and smiled. "Our boys can't always be on our bed. If they get used to it, then they're going to get jealous when our daughters are there more often." Gabby agreed with me when I said that. "I've thought about it and...what do you think of 4 cribs in our room?" I turned to look at Gabby when she told me that. "What?" Gabby sighed when I said that, "You know what, never mind."

I sighed when she said that. "Sorry, I guess I was just caught off guard. What are you talking about Gabby?" Gabby then sighed as she got up and came to walk over to me. "I guess...I just want to be able to do stuff with the boys. The girls are going to be in our room, and so am I most of the time. I am not going to want to walk too much when I have to take care of 4 kids alone at night." I looked at Gabby when she said that. "Hey, who said that you were going to have to take care of 4 kids alone?" Gabby looked at me when I said that. "Matt, you work 24 hour shifts."

Putting my hand out, I motioned for her to walk over to me...and she did just that before coming to wrap her arms around me. Going to do the same, I smiled and then went to kiss her forehead softly. Looking down into her eyes, I smiled at her. "I'm done with 24 hour shifts. Benefits of being a Chief." Gabby agreed with me when I said that. Going to kiss her again, I smiled. "I am going to be here Gabby so that I can help you raise the kids. I promise okay?" Gabby nodded and smiled when I told her that, clearly happy that was going to be the case. "Take a bite of your snack."

Gabby agreed with me when I told her that before going to do just that. Looking at me, she smiled at me. "I can eat standing up. Go spend some time with the boys babe." I shook my head. "I have to do the dishes. The bottles need to be cleaned." Gabby shook her head. "Matt, I can do them for now." I sighed when she told me that...but I decided not to argue. She was very strong willed and I knew that this was a loosing battle. "Okay, but you have to eat your snack first." Gabby agreed with me when I said that and just smiled at me. "Calm down Matt, I'm fine."

I sighed when Gabby told me that. "Gabby, we both know that you weren't fine just a few days ago. Gabby, I'm still worried." She agreed with me when I told her that before looking up at me. Putting her hand on my chest, she smiled and then kissed me softly. "Matt, I'm fine. But we can cuddle on the couch all day if you want." I nodded and smiled when Gabby told me that. "Oh, that was always the plan." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. Going to kiss her forehead, I just looked down into her eyes. "Or do you want to cuddle with the boys in bed?"

Gabby smiled when I asked her that. "Maybe you can wear your boxers?" I smiled when Gabby asked me that. "Let's just finish having our snack...and then I can make my way to bed with you." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I told her that, obviously loving that idea. "That sounds perfect." Going to grab some more of her snack, Gabby smiled at me while we stood there in the kitchen together this morning. God, I am so happy that this is what we're doing right now. And body do I love her so much. "Do the boys need a nap?" Gabby agreed with me. "Yeah."

I smiled when she said that. "Then we can cuddle in bed and just relax." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I told her that. "That sounds absolutely perfect." Going to walk over to the fridge, she smiled at me before going to grab some water. "Oh, where are our big water bottles? We can fill them up." I smiled and agreed with her before going to walk over to the cupboards where we keep our water bottles. Bending down, I went to grab them and smiled as I walked over to the sink so that I could fill them up. "Here we go, some water for Mrs. Casey."

Going to fill up her water bottle, I just smiled because I was very glad that we were going to be together in bed very soon. "Thank you Mr. Casey." I laughed and agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "Finish your snack so that we can head upstairs." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. "Of course." I nodded and just smiled at Gabby, definitely ready to make my way upstairs with her and our boys the minute she's done eating her snack.

Once Gabby finished eating her snack, I smiled as we both went to pick up the boys this morning so that we could make our way up to our bedroom where we were going to relax as a family. Looking at Andy as I held him in my arms, I smiled and went to kiss his forehead. "Hey little guy, you happy to be back with mommy and daddy?" Coming to cuddle up to me, Noah smiled as I held him close to me and just rubbed his back. I knew that he was tired and that he was going to walk to rest the minute we were upstairs together in bed. "Yeah, you like cuddling don't you?"

Gabby laughed and smiled when I said that. "I'm pretty sure that both of our boys love to cuddle." I smiled and agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "Listen, you said that you wanted to get upstairs so that we can put them down for a nap right?" Gabby nodded when I asked her that and smiled at me. "How about we go do just that then." Gabby nodded and just smiled when I asked her that, ready to go put our boys down for a nap. Then, we'll be able to get in bed together and just hold each other close. Grabbing our waters on the counter, I followed Gabby so we could go relax as a family.
