Chapter 309

Matt's POV: After having lunch with Kelly, I smiled when I finally made my way back to me and Gabby's room where Hannah and Sofia were also resting. That's when I saw Dr. Asher there. Checking on them, Dr. Asher smiled when she heard me come in. "If it isn't the dad." I smiled and agreed with her when she said that. "How are they?" Dr. Asher smiled when I asked her that. "They are looking really good Matt." I smiled when she said that and then went to walk over to our girls. Going to look at the both of them, I took a breath before looking at Gabby.

Seeing she was still asleep, I went to stand close to Dr. Asher. "Dr. Asher, want you to be honest with me....what are the odds that..." Dr. Asher looked at me and smiled. "Matt, I know you are scared. But I promise that we're going to do everything we can to make sure that you get to take these girls home." I smiled and agreed with Dr. Asher when she told me that. "Of course. Sorry, guess I'm just a little worried." She agreed with me and nodded when I said that. She then came to hug me and just smiled. "I promise, I have your girls. I mean, I did it with your boys." I agreed.

"Thank you Dr. Asher. Now, is Gabby going to wake up...or is she already awake?" That's when I heard Gabby speak to me. "Matt?" I smiled when I heard Gabby and then went to walk over to her. "Hey baby. How are you feeling?" Gabby then went to grab my hand and just got a little scared. "Are they..." I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she asked me that. "Hey, take a breath...they're right over there, I promise." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I told her that. "Baby, we're parents to 4 kids." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I said that.

Going to walk over to me, Dr. Asher smiled. "Gabby, I just want to say that I envy you...I have never seen a stronger woman than you. I mean, you gave birth to four kids in the past year...with both being traumatic births." Gabby agreed with Dr. Asher when she said that before taking a breath. Going to walk over to Gabby, I went to sit down next to her and then went to grab her hand to make her feel better. I know that she's scared and I want to just give her the comfort that she needs form me right now. After all, that's what a husband does for his wife.

Looking up at me, Gabby just went to lay her head down against my chest before looking up at me. "At least we're all safe." I smiled and agreed with her when she said that before going to lean down and kissing her softly. "I love you." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. "I love you too." Going to turn to look at Dr. Asher, I smiled. "Now, I wanted to let you know Gabby that...per your request, we did tie your tubes." Gabby agreed with her when she said that. "Thank god. If not, you would be taking me back to the ER. Sorry babe, but I'm done."

I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "Trust me Gabby, I already knew that." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I told her that, already very glad that we were done having kids. "I'm glad we're done having kids too." Gabby smiled when I said that and looked at me. I then bent down and then went to kiss her softly. "Okay, calm down you too. Now listen...I am going to say that I am going to monitor you. But now, I made sure that you can hold Gabby okay Matt? Just remember to take it easy with her." I nodded and agreed with Dr. Asher.

NOTE TO READERS: I know that this isn't realistic but...I want Matt and Gabby to be able to cuddle up to each other in the hospital bed without being worried. I don't want to have to worry about stitches. So just know that I am not going to worry about that in this story. Thanks again for reading my story. "Trust me, I plan on doing just that." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. Going to kiss her forehead softly, I just smiled because of how comfortable I was with her in my arms. "In fact, I think I'm going to get changed into something a bit more comfortable if that's okay?" Gabby shook her head. "Not yet, I want you to be here as Dr. Asher speaks to us." I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she told me that. I then turned my attention back to Dr. Asher. "What I was going to say is that you need to just take it easy...including with your boys."

Gabby agreed with Dr. Asher when she said that. "And as much as I would love to see your boys....I think that it'd be best for you guys to just keep them away for a little bit. I'm sorry if that's the case." I shook my head when Dr. Asher said that. "No, it's okay Dr. Asher. That was already our plan. I am not going to let Gabby get overwhelmed." Dr. Asher smiled when I said that before looking at Gabby. "Hold onto this one Gabby, he's a keeper." Gabby laughed and agreed with her when she said that. "Oh trust me, I know that." I agreed with her and smiled.

Going to bend down, I went to kiss her forehead and just smiled at her. "Anything else I can do to make her feel better?" Dr. Asher agreed with me when I said that. "You can just make sure that she rests. And you can treat her like the queen she is. Gabby, I have other patients here in the NICU but...I give you permission to yell at him if he doesn't treat you like the queen you deserve to be treated like. You gave him 4 kids and put your life at risk each time...so if he doesn't do what you want, you yell at him." I laughed and agreed with her. "That won't be a problem."

Gabby smiled and just agreed with me when I told her that. "Okay, now how about we just relax Matt?" I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she said that. "Of course. How about I let you out Dr. Asher and then we can relax?" Dr. Asher agreed with me and smiled at me. Going to get up, I went to walk over to the door so that I could let her out. I'm pretty sure that she has other patients to see anyways. "Oh, Dr. Asher..." Dr. Asher then turned to look at me. "Can you maybe put a hold on visitors? No unexpected. I want to approve the visitors before they come up."

Dr. Asher agreed with me when I said that. "Of course Matt, that makes sense. I promise that I will make sure that you are safe here at home." I smiled and agreed with Dr. Asher when she told me that, letting her out so that she can go see other patients. Closing the door, I smiled as I turned to look at Gabby. "No sex." I shook my head. "We're resting babe. Believe me, I'm going to just get changed into..." Gabby then smiled. "Your boxers and t-shirt...I want to lay down on your chest and take a nap." I nodded and agreed with Gabby, smiling at her as I did just that.
