Meanwhile, at the restaurant with Herrmann: Herrmann's POV: As I stand behind the bar while getting ready for Matt's surprise birthday birthday, I smiled because I was glad that they were coming out. I know that they have been through a lot over the past few months...and I know that this is what our Chief needs. That's when I got a text from Gabby. 'Just FYI. Matt already knows. No surprise plz. Headache.' I sighed when I read that and then went to text her back. 'Ok. Feel better. You still coming?' Gabby then went to send me one last text. 'No, Matt has a headache. No yelling surprise please.'
I agreed with her when she said that and then went to send her one last time. 'Sure thing Gabby. C u both soon.' I then took a breath and then went to set my phone down. "Listen up everybody." Turning around, I saw Boden, Kidd, Severide and pretty much everybody look at me. "I just got a text from Gabby. They're on their way." Severide agreed with me when I said that. "Thanks for letting us know." I then sighed. "Matt has a headache. Gabby asked us not to yell 'surprise' when they get here. Basically, let's just treat this as a gathering." Boden agreed with me, nodding.
"Makes sense. But you better get him a beer ready." I laughed and agreed with Chief when he told me that. "Maybe first I should ask whether Gabby is going to let him drink." That's when I heard somebody speak to me. "I already spoke to her this morning over text. She's going to let him drink." Turning my head, I was confused as to who exactly this woman was. "Uhm, how would you know whether Gabby will let Matt..." The woman then looked at me. "Sorry, let me introduce myself. Christie Casey and this is my daughter Violet." I then realized that.
"Oh sorry Ms. Casey." Matt's sister then laughed when I told her that. "Please, just call me Christie. No need to be so formal." I agreed with her when she said that and smiled. "Are you drinking tonight Christie?" That's when Mouch spoke to me. "Wait, so you'll serve her before Matt gets here...but not your co-owner?" I laughed and just shook my head. "Mouch, this is Matt's sister and his niece. That's why she's getting a beer before you are!" Christie laughed and agreed with me when I said that. "I'm okay. I don't need a beer. I'm their DD just in case."
That's when I heard somebody else walk up to the bar. "No, Christie go ahead and drink. Me and Natalie already aren't drinking tonight."
Christie's POV: Turning around to look at a voice I thought that I recognized, I was absolutely shocked. "Oh my god, Will?" Natalie laughed and agreed with me when I asked her that. "How are you Christie?" I agreed and just went to hug her. That's when a woman spoke to me. "Wait, you know each other?" Will then spoke up. "This is Matt's sister. I met her at Matt's engagement party. Oh Christie, this is my wife Natalie." Natalie then looked at me and smiled as she came to shake my hand. "Pleasure to meet you." I smiled and agreed with her. "Same here."
Will then went to look at me. "So, have you spent much time with your nieces yet?" I laughed and smiled. "Yeah, I went to the hospital for a while. I'm just shocked that I didn't run into at all." Will smiled when I said that. "I was on paternity leave at the time." I looked at him when he said that. "Congratulations. Boy or girl?" Natalie then laughed. "Twin boys. Nicholas "Nick" and William "Willie", Jr." I just shook my head when Will's wife told me that. "Seriously Will, you get her to name your son after you. Wow, you still have that ego from college." Will agreed.
"Yeah, Natalie tells me that all the time." His wife when went to go slap his chest. "Shut up, it's true." I nodded and agreed with her when she told me that. "Oh definitely, he definitely has a huge ego. But listen, I need to get to the front. I don't care if you are all friends...I get to hug my brother on his birthday first. And I need to get my sister-in-law to send me updated pictures." Will agreed with me when I said that. "Yeah, they are adorable. They posted some pictures on Facebook recently." I nodded and agreed with Will when he told me that.
"Thanks for letting me know. I will make sure to look at them." That's when I heard people start to yell surprise...and that made me know that Matt was here. "C'mon Violet, your uncle Matt's here." Violet nodded and agreed with me when I said that, walking with me to go see her uncle. ***********************************************************************
Meanwhile, at the door with Matt & Gabby: Matt's POV: As I walked into the door shortly after getting to Molly's, I sighed because people just yelled surprise even though Gabby has a headache. Going to look at her, I put my hand on her back and just smiled at her. "You okay?" Gabby nodded when I asked her that and just smiled at me. "Yeah, I'm fine." Going to take off her jacket, she smiled at me. "Can you hang up my coat?" I nodded and smiled when Gabby asked me that. "Of course babe." That's when I heard my sister walk over to me. "But first, you better come give me a hug." Looking up, I smiled at her.

"This is a nice surprise. What are you doing here?" Christie smiled when I asked her that. "I'm here to celebrate your birthday." I smiled and just agreed with her before going to hug her. "I see Will and Nat are here. You already talk to them?" Christie nodded and smiled when I asked her that. "Of course I did." That's when Violet walked up to me. "Happy birthday uncle Matt. How are Hannah and Sofia?" I smiled when she asked me that. "They're both doing great. But you aren't babysitting them anytime soon." Violet then went to snap her fingers. "Shucks."
I smiled and agreed with her when she said that. "My mother-in-law lives with me. I already have a babysitter." I then went to look at my sister and smiled. "How are you doing?" Christie smiled at me. "Another bust." I laughed when she told me that. "What did I tell you Christie? Stop dating guys named Jim or that are in the same line of work as your ex-husband. I mean not that there's anything wrong with people named Jim." Violet then looked at me. "It's okay uncle Matt. Mom, can we order food now? I'm hungry." I laughed when she said that. "Violet, just relax."
Violet agreed with me when I said that. "Let me say hi to all my friends, get myself a beer and then I will come sit with your both." Christie agreed with me when I told her that and just smiled at me. "Sounds like a good idea. See you soon Matt." I smiled and agreed with Christie when she told me that. I then smiled when I saw Severide there. "Let me guess, you left Stella alone with the kids?" Kelly laughed when I asked him that and shook his head. "She's bringing them to the daycare down the street." Coming to hug me, he smiled. "Happy birthday man." I agreed.
"Thanks. But listen, I need to get my beer from Herrmann." Kelly laughed when I said that. "I will talk to Stella and see if I can have a beer with you." I nodded and smiled when he said that. "Sure thing. You can sit with us. But go sit in the couch area." I then turned my head. "Christie, go sit in the couch area okay? That's where we're going to be sitting. Everybody gather around over there if you want to talk to us. Meanwhile, I am getting my beer." They all smiled and agreed with me when I told them talk. Walking over to Gabby and the bar, I smiled as I went to get a beer.
