Jay's POV: Once me and Erin made our way outside with Rex, I sighed as I went to grab Erin's hand so that I could intertwine our fingers. Before we got in the car, I wanted to clear the air after that little fight we had inside. We need to talk about this quick. "Listen, I just want to clear the air." Erin turned to look at me when I said that. "You mean..." I sighed when she said that and agreed. "Erin, I don't want to fight with you. It's not what the kids need us to be doing." Erin agreed with me when I told her that and just agreed with me. "Yeah, you're right. We're a team."
I nodded and agreed with Erin when she said that. "And Erin, I needed you today. I needed you to understand that I had to do stuff." Erin agreed with me when I told her that, going to walk over to our truck. Once we were there, I went to open the back and then looked at Rex. "In boy." He agreed and then went to jump up to get in the truck. Closing the door behind him, I just sighed as I went to step close to Erin. Intertwining our fingers as I went to grab her hands, I sighed and then went to look into her eyes. "Erin, you want Rex to be able to do his job right?" Erin agreed.
"Hey, of course I do Jay." I nodded and just took a breath. "And you knew full well where I was. I told you last night that I hated the fact that you were going to have to bring the kids to daycare alone. By the way, where's the van?" Erin smiled at me. "My dad picked me up on his way to work. We used his car seats." I nodded and smiled when she said that. "That means that I get to drive you home later." Erin smiled as she stepped close to me and agreed. Wrapping her arms around my back, she smiled as she came to kiss me softly. Taking it slow with her, I smirked.
"Okay, we're on duty." Erin laughed and agreed with me when I said that. "Listen, I am going to get into the truck." i agreed with her when she said that before going to walk around the truck so that she can get in. Opening my door, I went to get in and just smiled as I went to go put the keys in the ignition. "I just want to say that I'm sorry if I'm a little mad right now." Erin agreed with me when I said that. "Yeah, I figured that you were mad." Going to tug my door closed, I turned to look at her and sighed. "Erin, you want to help me. I hear you say that all the time..."
Erin nodded. "But you need to really do it. I can't have Hank yelling at me when I am trying to get our dog trained to do his job. He needed to be trained so that he can help me here at the district. Yet, I come here...and then I get yelled at by him for doing what I needed to do." Erin agreed with me when I said that and just took a breath. "I'm sorry Jay." I agreed with Erin when she said that and just went to grab her hand. Intertwining our fingers, I smiled at her. "It's okay. I promise that we're okay. I just wanted to talk about it so that it's over." Erin smiled and agreed.
Going to lean over the dash, I smiled as I went to kiss her softly. Going to put her hand on my neck, Erin smiled and went to take it slow with me. "I love you." Erin smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. "I love you too. But, we need to get to the CTA." Erin agreed with me when I told her that. Going to start the truck again, I smiled as I went to pull out of my spot so that we can drive away from the district. "So, remind me what we are going to tell the CTA." Erin smiled when I asked her that. "We need to tell them that they need to let their riders know that..."
I then went to finished her sentence. "That their customers may be the subject of a scam. We think that somebody might be stealing from their customers." Erin agreed with me when I said that. "Exactly. And we need to mention that it is affecting all of their services. More specifically, their customers from Chicago to Indiana. I think we said that it is also affecting PACE in Indiana." I nodded and agreed with Erin when she said that. "Yes, that's right." Erin smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. "God, we are so in sync again." I laughed and agreed.
That's when I went to look at Rex and just smiled at him. "Good boy, just lay down." Rex agreed with me when I said that. "I swear, he is such a good dog." I nodded and agreed with Erin when she said that, going to turn towards downtown. "I still think we could've walked." Erin shook her head when I said that. "Just easier." I nodded and smiled when she said that. "That, and I am still a little sore." I turned to look at her when she said that. "Why didn't you tell me Erin?" Erin then took a breath. "Because it's time I go back to work." I nodded and agreed with her. "Okay."
"Oh, I just remembered. We have to mention specifically that it's their BNSF line." I nodded and agreed with Erin when she told me that. "Yes, we do need to mention that. And we also need to mention that they need to let their customers though." Erin nodded and agreed with me when I said that. "This has to be one type of case that I hate the most. Scamming people is horrible." I nodded and agreed with Erin when she told me that. "I would have to say that mine is any crime against kids." Erin agreed with me when I said that. "God, that is even worse." I sighed.
"You thinking about the kids?" Erin agreed with me when I asked her that. "Not right now. Right now, I'm just concentrated on work." I smiled and agreed with Erin when she told me that, continuing to drive her towards the Chicago Transit Authority's headquarters.
