Hitting Reset Season 5: Family Life Part 3

Chapter 295

After making himself and Gabby some lunch, Matt made his way back up to their top floor bedroom. However, he decided to make a (quick) detour in the boys nursery first to grab a couple diapers. Matt didn't really want to have to come downstairs too much since Gabby was on bedrest. So, he decided to just make it easier on the both of them and grabbed the little basket that they had in there with everything they needed to change the boys. Carrying both it (the basket) and their lunch upstairs with him, Matt smiled as he walked in to see Gabby still breastfeeding Andy. "He's taking time to feed?" Turning her head, Gabby laughed and agreed with her husband when he remarked on how long their little boy was taking to feed.

"I think that it's just him wanting to be close to me right now." Matt nodded when she told him that and just went to make his way to their bed with their lunch. Looking at his wife, he smiled at her. "Do you want me to grab a bottle and feed Noah with a bottle?" Turning to look at him, Gabby sighed and nodded. "I think that it might be the best. Andy here is eating a lot." Agreeing with his wife, Matt just went to walk over to the mini fridge that they had in their room to get a bottle out for Noah. "I'll  just leave it on my bedside table for when Noah needs to feed." Gabby nodded and agreed with her husband when he said that and just smiled. "Come sit down though. We need to eat lunch." Agreeing with his wife, the fire chief proceeded to do just that.

Matt's POV:
As I make my way over to bed so that I can sit down with Gabby, I smiled as I went to put the bottle of breastmilk I grabbed for Noah on my side table. Once that was done, I went to grab the plate that I had already set down on our bed and then came to sit down in bed with Gabby. Looking at Andy as he fed off Gabby, I decided to get close to my girl and our son while keeping the plate of food in my lap. Wrapping my arm around her, I went to kiss Gabby's shoulder and smiled at Noah. "I think they're growing again." Gabby nodded and agreed when I told her that. Turning her head, she saw that I made us some sandwiches. "Those look good." I nodded and smiled when Gabby mentioned that. "Can you eat with one hand?" Gabby laughed, nodding.

"Babe, I used to work at a firehouse... I can eat like one of the boys." I smiled and agreed with Gabby when she told me that, watching her do just that while she continued to feed Noah this afternoon. Going to grab my sandwich, I went to take a bite of it and smiled at Gabby. God, she is such a great mom and I feel so blessed to have her as the mother of my children. That's when I reached over and just went to go rub Noah's cheek. "I swear, he can really eat." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I told him that. "Oh definitely. I'm shocked that he's still going." I smiled and agreed with her when she said that. "Growth spurt time?" Gabby nodded and smiled at me when I asked her that, going ahead with grabbing her sandwich so that she can eat.

"I think that I might be cuddling up to this little guy there once he's done feeding." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I said that. "I can't wait to see that." I smiled and agreed with Gabby when she told me that, already well aware of the fact that she loves it when I am cuddling with our boys in bed...especially when I'm shirtless. Now that made her hormones go crazy and I was not going to complain that she wants me to stay in my boxers right now. "Do you want me to start staying in my boxers whenever we are home alone with the boys?" Gabby turned to look at me when I asked her that. "That was out of the blue." I nodded and agreed with her. "That's how a bunch of our great conversations start after all." Gabby smiled and agreed with me.

"I think that we can start resting like this from now on. Why wear clothes that are just going to get dirty thanks to these little guys?" I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she told me that because I felt the same way. "They always like to destroy some of our nice clothes don't they?" Gabby nodded when I asked her that. "I'm just glad they haven't really worried any of your work shirts." I agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "That's because they are mostly facing away from me when I'm wearing my work shirts." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I told her that, knowing the reason why the boys face away from me when I am holding them at work. Let's just say that there have been a few close calls that involve a bunch of bleach. 

Going to grab my hand while we ate together, Gabby smiled as she intertwined our fingers and just turned her head to look at Andy (who seemed to finally be almost done with eating). Going to look at Andy, I smiled because I was glad that he was finally done. Gabby needs to rest in case she wants to feed Noah (I have a feeling she might want to regardless of what she said before). However, I am just going to keep the bottle here in case she really does want me to feed him. "Here, how about you take the plate and then I can grab him?" Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I asked her that before looking at Andy. "Here, let daddy hold you now so that he can burp you." Smiling when she said that, I went to grab Andy out of her arms.

Meanwhile, Gabby grabbed the plate form my lap and proceeded to move it into hers. She wanted to hold it so that I could concentrate on Andy. Bringing Andy onto my chest, I went to slip down in bed more and just smiled as I went to lay him down on my chest. Kissing the top of his head, I went to (gently) tap his back to burp him. "Yeah, little Andy's pretty comfortable there on daddy's chest isn't he little man?" Going to kiss the top of his head, I just smiled before turning to look at Gabby. "How are you feeling right now?" Going to grab her sandwich, Gabby took a bite and smiled at me. "Really good. I liked the intimate time I just had with Andy." I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she told me that, well  aware of how much she likes it.

"Yeah, it's always nice when we hold our boys in our arms." Gabby then took a breath and looked at me. "Do you think the boys will get jealous when we are holding the girls in our arms rather than them?" Turning to look at Gabby, I was shocked that she was even thinking that way. "Hey, of course not Gabby. We are going to hold all of our kids evenly. None of our kids are going to feel any less loved than the other." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I told her that, obviously really happy that was the case. "I'm glad." I smiled and agreed with her when she told me that, not ready to let her worry. Right now, she needs to relax and just let me do the worrying for her. "Babe, just relax and remember that everything's okay." Gabby nodded and agreed.

Going to look at Andy again, I smiled as I went to kiss his forehead softly and ate my sandwich for lunch. Anyways, I'm pretty sure that Noah's going to want to eat soon. "Just to let you know, you're going to have to take him back once Noah cries." Gabby agreed with me when I told her that. "I'm well aware of that Matt. You can relax too baby." I nodded and smiled at Gabby when she told me that because she was right. I Was overthinking this and needed to relax. "God, isn't it a bit weird that we both have to tell each other to relax?" Gabby shook her head when I asked her that and just smiled at me. "Not really. I'm just happy that this is what we're going right now. Nothing like relaxing with my boys today. Nobody but the four of us in bed together."

I nodded and just smiled as I reached out for her hand and then proceeded to intertwine our fingers. "And that's exactly what we're going to do." Gabby smiled and nodded when I told her that, probably really happy that we were home together here with the boys.
