Matt's POV: As I finished feeding Sofia his morning, I smiled as I held her on my chest and just kissed her forehead softly while closing my eyes for a minute. God, I am just so comfortable right now and I think it's all thanks to you Sof. Now this is exactly how I want to spend my birthday. I want to spend it with you all cuddled up to me today. Now, let's just hope that nobody tries to steal you out of my arms. That's when I felt my phone vibrate and smiled when I saw who it was. Going to open it, I smiled when I saw it was my sister calling on FaceTime. Of course she is.
Going to answer, I smiled as I went to look at her. "You can't just call me on the phone right now?" Christie laughed when I asked her that. "Of course not. I want to see my little nieces. Is the other one nearby?" I sighed. "You mean Hannah?" Christie agreed with me. "Sorry, hard to tell them apart." I was shocked. "How? Sofia has black hair...Hannah has dirty blonde hair." Christie shrugged. "Still not getting how that helps." I then took a breath. "Sofia's name is Hispanic like her mother...who has black hair like her." Christie then realized that. "Right."
I just laughed when she said that. "And you're the one with the Bachelor's Degree in Business." Christie agreed with me when I told her that and just smiled at me. "How are the boys doing with having to share your attention with their sisters?" I shrugged. "Can't tell yet since we just got home in time for my birthday." My sister agreed with me when I said that. "And that's exactly why I'm calling. Happy 41st." I smiled and agreed with her when she said that. "And to think...I have 4 kids now." Going to rub Sofia's back, I smiled as I kissed her forehead softly.
"Aren't you at work right now?" Christie nodded when I asked her that. "Yeah, but I wanted to call you. I was going to call you yesterday...but yesterday was the day you were bringing the kids home. And I was going to come over tonight but, I have a meeting that's going to run late. And with you guys having kids..." I agreed and understood. "I get it. Anyways, we have some friends who just had triplets coming over today." That's when I turned to look at Camila. "Oh Camila?" Camila then looked at me. "Yes Matt?" I sighed. "Can you move up your car a bit?"
Camila greed with me. "Your friends?" I nodded and agreed. "The ones who were sharing a room with us at the hospital for a bit. The one with the triplet boys." Camila laughed. "Then give me a little bit of time to leave before you invite them over. Sorry...but I can deal with 4 kids. I'm not sure I can deal with 7." I just looked at her when she said that. "Yet you can deal with 2 teenagers and 4 babies all at once." Camila then bit her lip. "Trust me....it's because I love your kids." I laughed and agreed with her. "I get it. But still, you should stay and help Gabby at least."
Camila looked at me when I said that and just held the plates of pancakes she made in her hands. "Do you still want these pancakes Matthew?" I nodded and agreed with her when she asked me that. However, that's when I heard Gabby come down with Hannah. "Uh oh, what did Matt do to threaten his birthday breakfast?" Going to walk over to the kitchen, Gabby smiled as she looked at her mom. "Buenos dias mama." Camila smiled and agreed with Gabby when she said that. "Matt said the exact same thing when he came downstairs." Gabby smiled and agreed.
That's when she saw that I was on the phone. "Matt, why are you on your phone while you're feeding Sofia?" I smiled when she asked me that. "I already fed Sofia. Now, I am just waiting for your mom to finish breakfast...then she can relax for a while." Camila agreed with me when I said that. "Of course Matthew. But first, I need to go move my car." Gabby just looked at me. "Matt, did you really ask my mom to move the car so that..." I just looked at her. "Gabby, they have 3 boys...one who has cerebral palsy." Gabby nodded when I said that. "Right." I agreed.
That's when Gabby looked at me. "By the way, no firehouse...." I just looked at her. "Fine, but only when the boys are taking a nap." I laughed and agreed with her. "God, I just have to give you a look and you just fold." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I told her that. "Hannah all fed?" I agreed with her and then smiled as I put my hand out. "Come here please. I want to hold my girls close to me this morning." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. "I am going to put Hannah in her seat. I need her to get used to not always being in our arms."
I sighed when Gabby said that. "Gabby, we basically just spent the past 9 months in and out the hospital. It's okay if you want to hold Hannah in your arms." Gabby shook her head when I said that. "No, I want our girls in their seats. That way...I can reclaim my seat in your lap." I laughed and agreed with Gabby when she told me that, going to rub Sofia's back. "Okay. Then how about you come grab this little one from me?" Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I said that, going to put Hannah in her chair. Once that was done, she walked over to me and Sofia.
"You can hold her after. I want to give my husband a birthday kiss." I nodded and smiled when Gabby told me that, loving that idea. "Then why am I still holding Sofia?" Gabby laughed and smiled when I asked her that, going to pick Sofia up out of my arms. She then proceeded to carry her to her chair so that she can lay her down before coming to join me on the couch.
