Hawkins' POV: Once me and Violet finished getting ready to go to Firehouse 51, I smiled as I stood by the door to see her stumbling. "Nervous?" She looked up at me and sighed. "Let's see...my boss/boyfriend is riding along with me. Evan, you need to promise me that you are going to treat me just like any other paramedic. I am not going to get the reputation of getting special treatment from you. In fact, I still think we should just stay quiet." I shook my head. "Violet, I am not going to take that risk. I don't want to risk loosing you without people nothing about us." Violet looked at me when I said that. "Wait, you want people to know because..."
I nodded and agreed with her when she asked me that. "Yes. But you also need to remember that I'm not riding with you. I'm riding in Ambo 61 with Gabby Dawson and Stella Kidd." Violet agreed with me when I said that. "I actually think it's Gabby Casey and Stella Severide." I nodded and agreed with her. "Right, the PIC is married to your Battalion Chief...and the other paramedic is married to the Captain on Squad 3." Violet agreed with me and smiled. "Just a warning, there is drama between the two captains at the house." I laughed when she said that. "Oh I know, you spoke about it. By the way, my meetings are being moved online just an FYI. Means I can be..."
Violet smiled and agreed with me when I said that. She then grabbed my jacket and just smiled as she tugged me close to her. "Love that. But listen, it's my Chief's first day back and I want to be there before him. Sorry but, you may be my overall boss but...I do not want to get on his bad side and hear it from his wife." I laughed when she said that before going to grab my bag. "Yeah, I read her file. She's quite something." Violet then sighed. "Promise me you'll remember that she has a bunch of young kids. She's probably going to be really worried...especially about her girls. You know what happened to them and it's not fair that this happens the year afterwards."
I agreed with Violet when she told me that. "Yeah, thanks for reminding me of that. I promise to remember that. But listen, we need to get out of here so that we aren't late." Violet nodded and agreed with me when I said that before going to walk out of the apartment ahead of me. Walking out behind her with my bag, I smiled as I went to grab my keys and then locked up. "By the way, remind me to make you a key. Heck, you should stay here more often." Violet agreed with me when I said that and just smiled as she turned to look at me. "You letting me drive your Range Rover might make me want to do that." I laughed and shook my head, grabbing her hand.
"Yeah, not until spring." Violet agreed with me when I said that. Going to intertwine our fingers, Violet smiled at me as we got close to each other. "By the way, you do realize that I may have to spend a bit of extra time with your PIC today right? I want to get to know her better. You know I like to do that with all my paramedics." Violet smiled and agreed with me when I said that. "I already know what you're trying to say...and no, I'm not going to be jealous. Anyways, she's married to the Battalion Chief...and she has 4 kids. By the way, I just saw a new picture of their daughters and they are so adorable." I laughed and agreed with her, smiling. "No kids."
Violet smiled when I said that and just agreed with me. "Oh trust me, I'm not ready to have kids." I agreed with her when she told me that and smiled as I went to let her hand go once we were at my Range Rover. Violet then went to get in (after putting her bag in the back seat) while I went to do the same with my bag. Getting in, I smiled as I got into the front seat so that I could drive us to the firehouse. Going to turn it on, I smiled as I turned to look at Violet. "By the way, we can talk on the way if you want. I already know that you are worried about something Violet." Violet nodded and agreed with me when I asked her that. "Of course I am. We're going public."
I nodded and agreed with her when she said that. Going to grab her hand, I just went to rub it and smiled. "I promise that things are going to be fine. But please just relax and remember that I am there for you." Violet nodded and smiled when I said that, rubbing my hand too. "You know, I really like how you're holding my hand. It feels so right." I smiled and agreed with her when she said that. "Yeah, it does feel right." Violet just smiled and agreed with me when I said that. "By the way, we also need to talk about one more thing." I turned to look at her when she said that. "And what's that?" Violet sighed when I asked her that. "There's a guy who has a crush on me."
I agreed with Violet when she told me that. "One of the firefighters there?" Violet nodded and agreed. "Yeah. His name is Blake Gallo. Italian, curly hair on Truck 81. I promise, there is nothing going on in between us." I nodded and agreed with Violet when she told me that. "Trust me Violet, I already know that." Violet just smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. "I'm glad. I'm just worried that you're going to get jealous." I shook my head. "Violet, I am very confident in our relationship. Remember, I signed those documents...and so did you." Violet smiled and agreed with me when I said that, remembering that. "Right, of course."
Me and Violet both smiled when I said that, ready to go public with our relationship.
