Hitting Reset Season 6: The Pandemic Begins

Chapter 390

Meanwhile, with Chief Hawks at his and Violet's condo:
Evan's POV:
As I walk out of the washroom shortly after taking my morning shower, I smiled when I saw Violet sitting up in bed. She wasn't awake when I left but god...I love the sight of her sitting there in my shirt. "This is a sight I like." However, Violet didn't really pay attention when I spoke to her and that got me concerned as her boyfriend. "Babe!" Violet then turned to look at me. "Oh, hey." I just looked at her when she said that, walking over to our bed. "You ok?" Violet sighed when I asked her that. "Can you come sit down with me?" I agreed with her, nodding when she asked.

Walking up to her, I went to open the covers and then proceeded to sit down. Wrapping my arm around her, I smiled as I looked at her. That's when she came to cuddle up to me. Bending down, I went to kiss her forehead and just looked at her. I could tell she was scared. "What's on your mind Violet? Talk to me as your boyfriend." Violet sighed when I asked her that and looked up at me. "Evan, I'm just scared. We're living together during a pandemic and we don't know much about our families. I guess I was just thinking about that. Who do I even call if you get this?"

I agreed with Violet when she told me that. "Yeah, I wasn't sure whether we were ready for the parents talk yet. But then again, we're in the middle of a pandemic." Violet nodded and sighed when I told her that. Putting my hand on her arm, I went to kiss her forehead to try and give her the comfort that she needs right now. "Violet, how long have you been thinking this way?" Violet sighed when I asked her that and just looked up at me. "I'm not sure...I guess since we agreed to move in. Evan, what if your family comes after you get in the hospital." I agreed with her.

"Well, that isn't going to be a problem. I'm an only child...and my mom is in a retirement home." Violet agreed with me when I told her that. "And your dad?" I sighed. "He's dead. Chain smoker." Violet just looked up at me when I told her that. "Oh god." I nodded and agreed with her when she told me that. "What about you?" Violet sighed when I asked her that. "I was adopted. Not close to my foster family because they were abusive." I looked down at her and was shocked. I just looked down at her because I felt horrible for her. "Violet, I'm so sorry." Violet agreed.

I then went to push her chin up and then leaned my forehead against hers. "I want to just tell you this okay Violet? You're safe here. Please do not even think that you're not safe here in my arms." Violet smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. "I know that I'm safe in your arms...I always will be." I laughed and agreed with her when she told me that and smiled. "I'm glad that you like this. You're pretty comfortable right now aren't you?" Violet agreed with me when I asked her that and smiled at me. Going to grab her hand, I just looked at her.

"Listen, as much as I want to stay here...we should get up if you want breakfast." Violet laughed when I said that and just agreed with me. "You working today?" I sighed when she asked me that. "Unfortunately." Violet nodded and agreed with me when I told her that. "I understand. You're the Paramedic Field Chief." I agreed with her and smiled. "I need to check on orders and stuff." Violet smiled when I said that. "Do you need some help?" I was shocked when she asked me that. "You'd do that?" Violet nodded and agreed. "Of course I would. Nothing else to do."

I laughed when she told me that and just smiled because I liked that idea. "Well, if that isn't the best reason to help me." Violet smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. "Listen, how about you go start breakfast for the both of us? Then I will come join you out there." I smiled and agreed with her when she told me that. Going to put my hand on her neck, I smiled as I went to kiss her softly. Taking it slow with her, I smiled because I was really happy right now. "Okay, well I am going to go make us breakfast. See you in a bit." Violet smiled and agreed with me.

Walking away, I proceeded to walk out to go make breakfast for Violet. God, I think I'm in love.

Violet's POV:
After spending a bit more time in bed, I smiled as I went to make my way out to the kitchen. Evan texted me saying that breakfast was ready. Going to walk over to the kitchen, I smiled at him. "So, what'd you make for us?" Turning to look at me, Evan smiled as he extended his arm so that he could wrap his arm around me as I walked up to him. Going to cuddle up to him, I smiled as I wrapped my arm around his back and then went to kiss him softly. "What'd you make?" Evan smiled when I asked him that. "I made us some eggs and bacon. I love me some bacon."

I laughed and agreed with him when he told me that. "Yeah, I know that." Evan turned to look at me when I said that and just smiled at me. "Well listen, let's just get eating. I know that you're hungry." I nodded and agreed with him when he said that. Going to grab some eggs, he started to make a plate for me. Once that was done, he turned to look at me and just smiled. Going to grab it, I just smiled because was really happy that he made us breakfast. "That food smells great." Evan smiled and agreed with me when I told her that, giving me a plate.

Once I had my plate, I smiled as I went to go walk over to the table so that we could sit down together. Walking over to me with his plate, he smiled. "Hey, I just wanted to make sure that you knew that I was going to try and not work all the time." I shook my head when he said that. "Evan, you have to work. It's your job. We are public servants and we have both dedicated our lives to public service. If you need to work, then you can work okay?" Evan smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. "You're the best." I laughed and agreed with him, smiling at the idea.

Blushing, I was just glad that we were relaxing right now. This was perfect and something I never expected to feel...let alone with my boss. But I'm happy and that's all that matters.
