Matt's POV: After taking a nice morning shower with Gabby, I smirked as I came out of the washroom while just wearing my boxers to see her standing at her closet trying to find her paramedic clothes. "You already forget where you put your work uniforms?" Gabby turned to look at me when I asked her that and sighed. "Yeah, I did." I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she said that before coming to walk over to her. Moving to look in her closet, I went to open the drawer where she put her CFD t-shirts and pants. "Here. And your shoes are downstairs. However, you might want to wear your boots today. Doesn't look good outside."
Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I told her that. Turning around in my arms, Gabby just smiled as she came to step close to me. Putting her hand on my back, she smiled as she looked at me in my boxers. "God, I am going to miss not seeing this body all day, everyday for a while." I smiled and agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "Don't worry, tomorrow you get me in boxers all day again." Gabby nodded and agreed with I told her that. Wrapping her arms around me, she just smiled and went to kiss me softly. "I love you." I smiled and agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "I love you too and I'm so glad that we're going to work together."
I nodded and smiled when Gabby told me that. "Yeah, that's going to be fun. And even better, it's 24 hours away from the kids. We need that." Gabby agreed with me when I said that and just put her hands on my chest. Leaning up, Gabby smiled as she kissed me softly. "Promise me that you won't complain if I call sometimes? I know that I am going to go overboard but..." I just agreed with her when she said that. "I promise babe. You can call whenever you want. I am not going to stop you because I am very worried as well." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I said that, wrapping her arms around me nice and tight as we both held each other that morning.
Going to kiss the top of her head, I just smiled because of how comfortable I was with Gabby in my arms right now. "I"m here for you okay babe? If you need anything, I don't care if I'm Battalion Chief. My job as your husband comes first." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I told her that. She then looked up at me and just smiled. Bending down, I went to kiss her while taking it nice and slow with Gabby. She needed this reassurance that everything was going to be okay because I knew that she was worried. "Gabby, I'm here for you day and night...I promise." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I said that. "Well, at least there's one good thing."
I looked at her when she said that. "What are you talking about?" Gabby smirked when I asked her and then went to grab her pants. "Unlike last time around...I am not going to have to sleep on those rock hard beds with all the snorers." I laughed and agreed with Gabby when she told me that before walking over to our bed so that I could put my pants on. Instead, I am going to be sleeping in my nice cozy bed away from the snoring." Going to start putting my pants on, I looked up at her. "Your nice cozy bed!" Gabby laughed and just smiled at me. "Fine, our nice cozy bed." I smiled and agreed with Gabby when she told me that, glad that was the case.
Going to grab my belt, I put it into my belt loops and just smiled at Gabby. "I'm glad that's the case as well. To tell you the truth, it was lonely not sleeping with you last time I was there." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I told her that. "I bet." I just smiled and agreed with Gabby when she told me that before proceeding to walk over to my shirt. Going to grab it, I went to put it on and just smiled as I went to tuck it into my pants. "By the way, don't say anything about this being the wrong shirt. I told Chief that I am not wearing dress shirts. I get that he did but, I am not that type of guy." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I said that, smiling.

Looking at the shirt I was wearing, Gabby just smiled. "Honestly, I'm not going to complain because I like the shirt that you're wearing." I smiled and agreed with Gabby when she told me that because I knew that was going to be the case. "Good, because I think it's very comfortable." Gabby laughed and just smiled when I told her that. Going to walk over to my dresser, I went to grab one of my bags and just smiled as I went to open the top drawer of my dresser. Grabbing some deodorant, I smiled and then went to go put some in my bag along with the clothes that I am going to wear tomorrow. That's when I remembered something. "Oh, quick FYI."
Gabby turned to look at me when I said that. "Don't put your stuff in the locker room." Gabby just looked at me when I said that. "Why would I?" I then sighed. "Sorry, just making sure. There's a CFD requirement that we maximize space. I am going to ask all Officers to keep their things in their offices. So, since you're my wife...you are required to keep your things in my bedroom. Sorry, just thought I'd warn you." Gabby agreed with me when I said that and just smiled. "Do you think that people are going to be mad?" I sighed when she asked me that. "Yeah. But they need to know that I mean it. And I need you to help me enforce them."
Gabby looked at me when I said that. "These coming from HQ or you?" I sighed. "A mixture of both. I don't want anybody getting this." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I told her that. "How worried are you babe?" I sighed when Gabby asked me that. "It's our friends babe. Of course I'm worried." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I said that. Walking up to me, she came to hug me and just sighed. Going to hug her, I held her close and smiled. "Listen, we need to get out of here. I want to get there early and just get briefed from the outgoing chief." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I said that. "Of course. Let's get downstairs and eat."
I smiled and agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "That sounds great. We need to spend a bit of time with the kids before we leave." I smiled and agreed with Gabby when she said that. Going to grab my bag, I smiled at Gabby before going to grab her bag. "Matt, I got it." I shook my head when Gabby told me that. "Just relax and let me be your husband for a bit. I'm not sure how much I'm going to be able to do that today since i am going to be stressed." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I said that, understanding. "Of course Matt. Listen, just take a breath and relax." I nodded and agreed with Gabby when she said that, going to grab my jacket.
"Okay, let's go downstairs with the kids." Gabby nodded and agreed with me when I told her that. Going to walk over to my side table, I went to grab my phone and just smiled as I put it in my pocket. Grabbing my wallet too, I smiled and put it in my pocket as well as I walked over to Gabby. Gabby then smiled as she stood at her door and put her hand out for me to grab. Going to grab her hand, I smiled and then proceeded to walk out of the bedroom with her so that we could both make our way downstairs to the kids ahead of us leaving to go to work together for the first time in a while.
