fourteen: situationship
HINDI NA KAMI MASYADONG NAGKIKITA NI JED DAHIL BUSY SIYA. Ayoko din naman siyang istorbohin dahil busy rin ako sa paghahanda sa grand opening ng bagong Elysium hotel sa Tagaytay na matagal na naming ginagawa.
Sir Kio invited us to come, and now Kenzo is on his way to give me a ride to Tagaytay.
"OMG! I like your dress!" He complimented. Mas naging open siya sa gender niya pagkatapos niyang mag come out sa iba pa niyang mga kaibigan. He also told me na nag come out na siya kay Asteria, bago pa pala kami pumuntang Batangas. They're really close now.
"I'm loving your outfit now, it suits you well." He chuckled. Kung ano anong pinag usapan namin.
"How's your love life now? What am I missing?" Hindi ko alam ang sasabihin ko, wala namang nangyayari sa love life ko maliban kay Jed.
"You won't tell anyone about this, okay? Kahit si Asteria, at ang circle namin ay hindi alam 'to." He nodded immediately.
"Swear, Mari. This will be our little secret." I smiled.
"Ganito, uhm, the thing between me and Jed is, uhm-"
"Okay, you need to get your story straight first." I sighed before leaning my back.
"Okay, so Jed and I have this... thing. We're not couples, and we're not just friends."
"So you're in a situationship?"
"What is that?" Tumigil siya sa pagmamaneho dahil sa traffic.
"Ang situationship is a relationship that has no labels. You're unofficially dating. Are you having sex?" Nanlaki ang mata ko sa sinabi niya, and he just laughed.
"Okay, I see what's going on in here. You said you're not just friends? So, naging kayo noon?" Umiling ako, a hesitant one.
"We weren't in a relationship, but we had some romantic tension, well for me." He gasped.
"I knew it! Oh my God, Mari. That time when he picked you up, I knew something was up with the two of you! At nachika din ni Asteria na hindi siya mapakali sa inyo ni Jed." Of course, she is.
"But, do you like him?" Umiling ako agad.
"Well, I like him, okay, because he treats me better than my ex. Pero natatakot pa rin ako, he's still a jerk. And I can't let my guard down, if I can't keep him as a lover, then at least I could still call him a friend." Kenzo tsked repeatedly, he sounds like a concerned father.
"Oh, dear,"
Nakarating kami sa opening, marami na agad tao. May mga kilalang businessmen na nagkukumpulan, maraming mga socialites. Nasa tabi lang ako ni Kenzo, a little anxious because I feel like everyone's judging me.
"Kenzo! Mari!" Nawala ang anxiety ko nang marinig si Asteria. She ran towards us and hugged the both of us.
"All of this would be impossible without you!" Ngumiti kami kay Asteria, flattered and honored by what she said. Kasama niya si sir Kio kaya hindi maiwasan na may lumapit sa'min ni Kenzo na nag aalok ng bagong project, hindi ako tumanggap dahil mag aapply na ako sa isang firm for a permanent job.
"Bakit 'di ka tumanggap ng project? Are you busy these days?" Umiling ako kay Kenzo.
"Mag-aapply ako sa isang firm by next week, hassle kasi kung tanggap lang ako ng tanggap ng projects eh wala naman akong firm." He nodded.
"Do you need help finding one? I can refer you." Umiling ako.
"Thank you, but I think I can manage."
God, I hope so.
