-Hey, you mutts! Faster! At this rate, we won't meet the quota. – The leader screamed at her underlings. She was annoyed how they were so incompetent and let the fight drag on for too long. This was only a group of Togekiss, which didn't use to fight as they were from a race of peace. It's not like she didn't want to end this fight quicker by letting her Pokémon out but she had to contain herself as they were appointed to catch a much more powerful group later.
Right now four Togekiss were already down. The last one was the biggest, probably also the strongest. It persisted to protect its group. The lady figured it was the leader as it had greater potential than the others. Although it was bothersome, she's still pleased to have a big haul. Especially, this Togekiss looked very useful for their experiments.
In the end, Togekiss couldn't persevere anymore and lost consciousness like the others. Seeing this, the lady had a victory smile on her face.
-Hurry! We need to quickly go to the next destination. Clean up now! We're running out of time!
Listening to their boss' rants, the men moved their hands quicker. After catching all Pokémon, they also picked up the eggs, collected their machined cannon, and masked their trace a bit, enough to make sure it wouldn't lead to their base.
Because time was limited, they had rushed through by using absolute violence and intended to continue doing so. After they finished their job here, the lady hurried them to move. That was when she noticed something strange. She felt there was a lot of presence around them. It shouldn't be new as this forest was always full of Pokémon. But not with this density. There were a lot of movements and she could hear the constant rustling sounds coming from behind the trees or in the shade of the bushes.
-Now! – A child's voice rang out. That was the signal for everything.
The wind blew and the air started to fill with glittering colorful powder. Different energy waves were spreading above their head. As they altogether painted a magnificent canvas one couldn't forget, the criminals reacted immediately when they realized they were under attack. Even though this scene was so beautiful like a starry night sky with radiant auroras in the daylight, upon seeing such a breathtaking picture unfolded, the lady only felt her hair raising, goosebumps spreading all over her skin with the fear crept into her mind that sent shivers down her spine. She immediately let out all of her Pokémon, the same as others did.
-Mandibuzz, Whirlwind!
In the emergency, she barked out her order to the only Pokémon in her team that could use a move that get them out of this predicament. Mandibuzz flapped its wings and the wind started to pick up. She guessed those colorful powder probably was the mixture of Poison Powder, Sleep Powder, Spore, and Stun Spore. It wouldn't be funny to take a whiff of that sh!t. She couldn't figure out which moves spread out those energy waves. But the lady bet on Psychic-type moves, she ordered her Pokémon to use Psychic to counter that. Her underlings saw her series of actions and immediately copied her to command their Pokémon, hoping that would work. But to their horror, the wind they created couldn't blow the glittering powder away. They also were overwhelmed by those energy waves and were immobilized on the spot.
Lyon from the start knew that they were much stronger and also had more members. With only his Pokémon he would fail. So he convinced other Pokémon in the vicinity to join him. To overwhelm a few with a greater number. That was his strategy. Simple but effective! And thanks to their arrogance, they left out other Pokémon as they belittled those useless and common species.
Bug-type and Grass-type Pokémon were everywhere in this forest. Most of them could use Poison Powder, Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, or Spore; a lot of them with wings could use Gust and the like to control the wind while a small number could use Psychic-type moves like Butterfree, Venomoth... And yes, they were weak. If it was a 1v1 battle, they lost for sure. But what would happen if the rate was 1:100? There must have been more than a couple of thousands in the vicinity. And Lyon took the advantage of using their emotion to convince them when the criminal group destroyed the forest and hurt Pokémon blatantly.
Now the lady and her underlings were immobilized and had to witness most of their Pokémon which weren't able to do anything and fainted. Even when some left was still standing due to their abilities to resist status ailments, they weren't able to hold on for long. The scene she saw, a sky full of stars, would be forever engraved in the depths of her mind. Though it didn't really matter when this was also the last thing she saw.
After they all fainted (including the criminal group), Lyon appeared from behind the trees. He knew if they let them be, they all died as there was also poison mixed in. But he didn't intend to do anything. This was their karma as they thoughtlessly destroyed the forest and enraged Pokémon which were living here. It wouldn't be wise to oppose his allies here (a lot of them to be exact) for some criminal strangers.
Lyon came forward and released Pokémon which were caught. Others also help as there were a great amount of Pokéballs. While he was releasing Pokémon, Lyon found a lot of them were badly injured. Fortunately, some Pokémon here knew Grassy Terrain. And he could leave the rest to Chansey, Clefairy, and the like.
Sometimes his eyes lit up when he saw some Pokémon he liked. But Lyon had to refrain from doing something reckless, especially when most of them were traumatized from being caught. He learnt a lesson from this incident. When you wanted to catch a Pokémon, coercion was the last thing you should do.
Back in his ex-world, as he played Pokémon games, he often thought of catching a Pokémon was simply battling then throwing a Pokéball. Done. When he watched the series and read the manga, he discovered that there were other options like simply persuading them to come with you or through trading... So when he came to this world, especially after meeting Eevee, he had decided how he would treat his Pokémon in the future. He would let them choose what to do. They could either come with him or battle to decide. Coercion or trading would never be in his consideration when he knew they had their own emotion. Surely you wouldn't like it when you were enslaved, right?
