Lyon was pretending to faint so he couldn't open his eyes. He wanted to observe his surroundings but he could only use his ears and nose to hear and smell. Fortunately, after training for a long time his enhanced senses were able to somewhat discern objects around him. With these little pieces of information, Lyon could ascertain that they were getting closer to the laboratory as the aroma of the plants and the sounds of the forest were fading. The valley had less greenery than the forest. These organizations must have been thinning out the area regularly to monitor easier.

The wagon came to a stop. Lyon could hear the team leader say something to the guards. After a minute, Lyon felt something moving and before he knew what it was, he was thrashed against the metal cage.

-Urgh, sEv0#@mvFh.

Lyon felt that it had been too long since the last time he cursed. Right now he was doing his best to keep himself from spitting on their face. "Couldn't you handle it gentler? There are children in here!" Against his thoughts, he had to open his eyes. It would be too conspicuous if he was still sleeping in this ruckus.

-Aaaaaaa.

-Eeeeeee.

-Ooooooo.

-Uuuuuuu.

-Iiiiiii.

"Urgh, my ears!" Lyon wanted to file a complaint about all these screams. But he had to go along with the children if he didn't want to stand out. Still, he chose a common scream. He couldn't imagine himself making these weird noises after all.

Lyon noticed it was a Machamp that dragged the 4 cages at the same time. No wonder why this cage was shaking too much. Machamp used the hand above to pick one side of the cage and pulled it along. The 4 metal cages were crashing against each other while moving and the people inside were pushed to one side while screaming. Lyon was pressed in a corner. He felt a bit suffocated. Still, he observed and analyzed the surroundings secretly and tried to hypothesize all the possibilities that could happen to his escape plan as they came deeper.

They stopped briefly in front of a metal door. There were also guards standing beside and patrolling the area. Lyon frowned at the heavy security this place was put under. It was only outside but the security was already this tight then he couldn't imagine how the inside would be. Lyon reminded himself to put the difficulty at the highest.

After some time, they moved past the door. It seemed that to have access, the team leader had to go through some procedures and gave confirmation with some high-tech devices he had never seen before. "What is that? DNA scanner or something?" Lyon wasn't sure about that. The team leader had been scanned by a green layer of light and the screen on the right side of the door had shown that the irises, skeleton, and DNA were a match.

Lyon was amazed at such a futuristic system (compared to his ex-world). Still, now he was irritated that the difficulty bar kept being set higher and higher. It seemed like getting out of this place would be harder than he initially thought.

Lyon recalled the map he had drawn based on the memories of 6 different members. They were still in the outer section while the experiments took further inside. Surely, they met another metal door after a while. This must be the one that led to the inner section. Lyon waited patiently but what happened next was so out of context that he couldn't help widening his eyes. They went through the door. And another. And another. A series of hallways and doors made his head hurt not from the complex but the sheer quantity.

-D@mn it!

Lyon cursed silently as he realized he got a very big problem at hand. If right now Celebi was in front of him, he would madly scream at the green onion. "You call this situation 'safe', huh? Is it not threatening enough in your eyes?"

As Lyon tried to calm down by breathing deeply, he noticed something. Obviously, there were Psychic-type Pokémon roaming around the place so some of his plans now had to be thrown into the trash. He intended to utilize Hypnosis or Teleport before but... At least, he was careful and had prepared another backup plan.

They slowed down as the destination was near. The team leader said something to the guard who was standing next to another metal door. While talking, they looked behind them. Lyon followed their line of sight to glance at the metal cage he was in and the others behind him which were also carried by Pokémons aside from Machamp.

Including 7 children in this cage, Lyon counted that there were approximately 50 people in total. They were stuffed in cages like some kind of livestock. This scene was a bit obnoxious so he closed his eyes and used Aura to eavesdrop on their conversation.

-This batch arrives a bit later than usual, eh?

-Can't help it. Those hyenas' going crazy lately. We caught a lot so they raise the security level in the city to the maximum.

-It's not enough though. Prof. Dhamaal keeps urging us for new guinea pigs.

-We're already doing our best! Things he needs won't drop from the sky.

-Well, okay. Just hurry and put them in Section D.

-Yeah, tell him to be more patient.

-Aha, you know his temper. Patient? Um, not in his dictionary.

Because Lyon was spreading Aura outward, his auditory perception became more sensitive. He could clearly listen to the conversation between the team leader and the guard but their tone just made him uncomfortable. It bugged him how people were treated this way.

As they moved again, Lyon opened his eyes to observe the way. He didn't dare use Aura again because he had instinctively felt he would be caught if he used it any longer. And surely, there was an Inkay that turned its glance towards here from afar but there was a confused look on its face like it wasn't certain. Lyon felt his heart stop beating until that Inkay turned away.

After a series of metal doors, which made him curse silently again, they arrived at a hallway. Lyon looked through the holes in these doors and saw there were people inside these locked rooms. His heart sank as he estimated that there were about a hundred people. He remembered the guard said this amount wasn't enough. That meant they would be used up soon. Hundred plus fifty. Just what kind of experiment needed this many subjects?

As Lyon was thinking so, they were split up and thrown into different rooms. He didn't know how they categorized the subjects but the room he was in was packed with people of different ages, heights, weights, genders, nationalities... Lyon couldn't find much common between them. And before he could think of anything else, the door behind his back slammed shut with a bang. The lock clanged loudly in the quiet room as the light darkened.
