His throat was burning. Lyon didn't know how long it's been since he started yelling. Probably hours. His eyes were a little blurred from concentrating too long. He couldn't really see what's in front of him. The only thing he could do was guessing Ariados's direction and continuously ordering those Pokémons. And apparently, it's not working. He's tired and out of breath already. He also got a freaking headache. But he still forced himself to keep holding on or else he would die.
Lyon tried to do everything he could, came up with different ideas, attempted all kinds of tactics... But it's really wishful thinking to hope this many Pokémons was able to fight against this f#cking Ariados. That was when Lyon realized that he had overestimated himself. He thought he was smart enough. Nah! He was an idiot to think that he could overpower Ariados by sheer number. There's a saying gazillion ants can bite an elephant to death. Maybe... but this elephant just wouldn't die no matter how many ants there were. Ariados kept standing there and threw a disdain look over this way like it was saying: "Yo, human. Keep this meaningless struggle up. Nice try but you'll die either way!"
Aaaarrrrgh!!! There was more than half of the Pokémons fainted already. The others were hanging on for dear life. But the only thing they could do was tired it out a little bit. "It's not good. We couldn't keep this up any longer." His brain now became mush but Lyon still tried to figure a way out with his presently useless neurons. And after a long time thinking, he concluded that there's no freaking way out. Now Lyon only had to wait patiently for his joyful death. F#ck!!!
Too caught up in thinking, Lyon didn't notice Ariados's strange movement. It was then Ariados abruptly jumped towards him. Well, he could dodge a bullet so he could dodge this too. Nah. It ain't worked like that. The only reason why he was able to do so before was that he had anticipated the coming bullet first and been ready to dodge any moment. Now when he was standing in a daze, he's just like an immobile target.
At the time Lyon noticed something wrong, all he saw was a pair of mandibles right in front of his face. He could feel all the hairs on his body standing up. Whoa! So it's not a lie that when in danger, adrenaline rushing in makes you feel everything in slow motion. It didn't even bother to use a move. A normal bite was all it has to do to take his life. Lyon tried to move his body aside to avoid the attack although he knew he would never make it. Okay. Time to say goodbye. Let's die.
It was then Lyon felt a force from his right pushing him to the left. He looked down and saw a furry, gray lump. It activated a green glowing shield around its body. He also saw a multicolored barrier right beside it. At the same time, a deer-like Pokémon jumped in and pushed Ariados to the right.
Lyon heard a shattering noise and the next thing he knew was that he was thrown in the air. Lyon tried to turn his head to identify which ones had helped him while being rotated 360 degrees. And THUD!!! The pain took over him. Lyon felt his right leg hit the ground first and his whole body scraped against the cave's floor to complete a couple more cycles.
- Ouch, that hurts!!!
Lyon thought of doing an exceptionally perfect landing. Which obviously didn't happen. He was lying on the ground like a dead dog. Such a difference between expectation and reality! Well, he's still alive. Barely though.
Lyon raised his head to look at the scene. The furry, gray lump was Minccino. The other was Deerling. In the nick of time, Minccino pushed him to the side and used Protect. While Deerling used Tackle to push Ariados to the opposite direction. And there was Espurr standing behind and used Reflect. The impact blew them away, made Minccino and Deerling faint. He was amazed to know that Ariados was able to shatter both Protect and Reflect.
In the time Lyon was enduring the severe pain and stood up, Riolu and Espurr had brought Minccino and Deerling to the back. He now ordered the other Pokémons to start another round of battle. There's no other way but kept fighting even if it's hopeless. Ariados was screeching in anger for not being able to kill him. Then the horn on top of its head started glowing white. Ariados started charging this way. Lyon could feel the bloodlust coming from it all over here. He must have made it really p!ssed off.
Lyon realized this was Megahorn. From the looks of it, they were all going to die if that sh!t hit them. He then quickly ordered them to attack in the hope of changing its direction.
- Full force to the side, ATTACK!!!
All kind of moves flew off. His eyes were a bit blurry from the lights but he was still trying to gaze to perceive the situation. He had to be prepared for any sudden changes. The result was satisfactory. Ariados was pushed to the side and only able to damage their right wing. There was still at least more than two over three of them left after the attack. The others were all fainted and carried to the back.
If this kept up, maybe they could somehow win. Nah. What pretty wishful thinking! That's not going to happen. Because Ariados now was in the rage mode. And after a couple of minutes, the only two left standing were Ariados and him.
When Lyon had come to this world, he'd been overjoyed and hoped that he was going to lead a good life here. Never expected it was this sudden. Who said that the reincarnators would have a luxury life? All he experienced were hardships.
Well, okay. Even though it was short, it's still a fun journey. He had to accept when the time came. But no complaint when you were given a second chance to live. He hoped he could live a bit longer though.
Lyon now waited for those beautiful white mandibles came closer. It's a surprise how calm he was. Lyon slowly shut his eyes, waited for the pain to come as death closing in. "Well, I guess this is it. My story end here. It was fun though. Bye."
