- Urgh. – Lyon groaned. His whole body was aching. Probably he was hit by something on the way being delivered. He opened his eyes and saw absolutely nothing aside darkness. These spiderwebs covered his sight totally. He tried to but couldn't move an inch. "Well, there's no way it would be so easy to escape." Lyon tried to reach the pocket knife in his sleeve but it was harder than he thought. He had to wriggle around like a worm to get it.
By the time Lyon finally got out of these spiderwebs, he dropped down to his knees trying to catch a breath.
- These webs are really sticky. Glad that I got out.
Lyon was relieved but when he raised his head up, he became frightened from seeing a scene straight out of a horror movie. It was a huge cave like a dome with no entrance. The only exit was up there, on the ceiling, but that also was sealed off by spiderwebs. Even then, he's not afraid of being imprisoned. What made him almost peed his pants were hundreds of white cocoons lined up on the ground to the top of the ceiling.
Lyon couldn't imagine how big a Pokémon would be to need this number of preys. If it was a spider-based Pokémon, there were only six of them. Spinarak, Dewpider and Joltik were not the final forms. Araquanid should live somewhere near water. All that left were Galvantula and Ariados. But when he was captured, he didn't feel any electricity. So all of this must be Ariados's work.
He knew that even when Pokémon could live normally just by eating berries because they already were nutritious enough, some still chose to eat other Pokémons to make themselves grow stronger. But the thing made him kept wondering was the number of preys here. Ariados must have wanted to store food for the upcoming winter, even then this number was way too much. Lyon couldn't imagine how big it could be to eat all these preys. He got the chills when thinking of a gigantic Ariados.
His ears then picked up some noises. Lyon freaked out and hurried to hide behind a cocoon. A moment later, the spiderwebs at the exit were torn off and a big silhouette came into sight. It had a red body with black stripes and markings on its rear that formed a face. In the center of its head was a small, white horn. Additionally, it also had small purple eyes and a pair of white mandibles. It had four yellow legs with purple stripes; long, pointed growths on its back appeared to be remnants of its fifth and sixth legs. Its feet were tipped with tiny hooked claws that enabled it to scuttle on ceilings and vertical walls.
Ariados reached a white cocoon on the ceiling. The cocoon then shook violently itself and a scythe appeared puncturing the white cocoon from the inside. A Scyther tried escaping but there's no use. It was caught immediately and was bitten by Ariados's teeth. Still, Lyon didn't prepare for what's coming. Scyther's body was shriveled up right then and there. His ears were filled with terror screams in pain of Scyther.
After finished its food, Ariados left and sealed off the exit again. Only then Lyon started to move. He kept vomiting water and even when there's nothing left in his stomach, he still dry heaved over and over again. After a while, Lyon raised his head to look at where Ariados dumped Scyther's remains. Earlier, he hadn't noticed there was a pit. That must be its dumpster.
When he was young, Lyon loved to watch the anime series even though he hadn't had many chances. He had wanted to live inside such a wonderful world. It's a kid's dream. There's no one really died. Good people all lived happily. Unfortunately, this was the reality. Even when Lyon was reincarnated in this world, it didn't mean that he would be able to live happily like in those anime. This world was different. It had some kind of energy everywhere and inside every living thing. That's why it's harder to die here and Pokémon usually only fainted after a battle. However, it didn't mean there would be no deaths. Such a cold harsh cruel reality!
Lyon thought of how big Ariados was and came to a conclusion. He wouldn't be able to escape. It's hopeless. Not mentioned that he wouldn't be able to reach the exit which was so high up, he couldn't just casually waltz out of here. The only way to survive was killing that Ariados, which even more impossible.
Lyon kept pondering how to get out of this hell hole. Then he looked at those white cocoons. There were hundreds of them. If they all cooperated, there's a chance to survive. It's better than doing nothing. He then started to rescue them immediately.
The first one was a Deerling. But Lyon didn't have time so he asked for its help. The second was a Minccino. The third was an Espurr. Lyon also asked them the same. Over and over again, he and the Pokémons cooperated and kept rescuing themselves. Lyon didn't know how much time had passed. His arms got tired but he didn't dare to stop. Then finally, all of them got out of the cocoons.
There was a large variety of them. Lyon had to think up a battle plan, organize, explain and train them in a short amount of time. He felt like his head was going to crack any moment from processing too much. The good thing was that the Pokémon all were very cooperative. Their survival instinct must have kicked in. With all the tension rushing in their head, training them was much more easier.
But Lyon was still afraid. He had seen how big Ariados was. That one must be very powerful, whether it's enough or not, there's not much he could do. Now he prayed that he would be able to survive this and waited for a big battle coming.
