Ride

"I'm sure my mom will allow me to sleep over...I'm eighteen for pete's sakes," I reassured Harry as our fingers were interlaced and I pulled him along beside me, as we finally reached the outside of the school.

There was still a crowd of people you could say, but only bits of crowds, which allowed Harry and I some space to move across the campus of school. We found my mom parked at the front of the school at the end of the steps, but there was another car parked right beside my mom's.

It was as beautiful as Harry's dark vehicle, but this baby was a nice silver with amazing curves and edges to its style. It looked like it could be a Ferrari.

I ignored the car, knowing my mother didn't like competition between her and other people, but I walked down the steps of the school as her car window rolled down revealing my mother's face.

"Hey, do you mind if I could, maybe, go over...Harry's...to uh...uhm sleep?" I asked with the fakest smile and Harry laughed at me, but I released my hand from his, hitting him on the arm.

"Honey, you're eighteen, of course, just take the ride," she said with a tone of having no problem at all.

"Take the keys, and your license though," she said, which is what confused me until the wind blew like it was giving me the answer as she held out my license and some new keys.

I looked up from her car and over to that beauty I spotted right beside her.

"No way," I said, as I bent over to look at her closely, to see any sign of her joking.

My mom carried a smirk, and nodded her head as her hazel eyes sparkled up. I gave her a big smile, as I stuck myself more into the car to grab the two items and to give her hug.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you," I repeated myself just like Harry, as I kept the smile on my face, when I pulled away.

"I love you, Mom," I told her, as I skipped around her car like a little girl again, becoming impatient to see the new car.

"So it looks like one of you guys gonna have to leave your car here, unless you guys both drive," my mother rolled down the driver's window as I scanned the silver smooth car with my eyes, then ran my fingertips along the side of it. It was absolutely gorgeous, and it was definitely a keeper.

I turned away from the ferrari, and faced my mother who now had sunglasses on to cover the bright sun that shone passed me.

"I'll just leave my car here, Ms. Gomez," I heard Harry say, and my mom pointed a finger immediately to him.

"I told you to call me Mandy," she warned him, like it was proper, and then looked back at me, speaking up.

"And Selena, don't forget that you have to work this summer at the library before Roster," she pointed a finger toward me as well as I glared shone off of her glasses from the sun that reflected off of the glass, and I nodded, knowing what I had to do.

"Alright, I'm out, bye honey," my mother blew a kiss, and captured into my hand, then she drove off, waving good-bye to Harry.

The breeze of her car, swept up a few strands of my hair that loosen from my bun and across my face. I watched her Camry drive off, and I looked to Harry who stood on the sidewalk of our school, taking off of his blue hat, and ruffling out his hair, as I smiled at him, but once he looked towards me I spoke up.

"We actually graduated," I hyped up in excitement, but in strange tone of voice, making Harry laugh. I walked up to him with my arms open, but still kept my keys and license in my hands. Instead of me just giving Harry a hug, he picked me up from feet, as I wrapped my arms around him. My legs bent as he carried me on his side, and he walked over to my car, placing me to the roof of the car.

"No," I complained, knowing he was probably going to be the one to bring me back down.

"I wanna ask you something, love," he said in a tone that seemed like he was trying to calm me down, but I gazed into his green eyes that seemed to be so lighter in the sun, it was like his soul or his inner self had disappeared only a bit. It was breathtaking. Just Like Europe, but better. Harry placed his hands against the car, leaning closer.

"What made you change your mind about me?" Harry asked, and I let out a breath.

"Well," I started, not sure if I wanted to continue this conversation, but I had to.

"I never really trusted any boys ever since my dad cheated on my mom, and I had a lot of issues with trusting boys until I met you," I explained the story.

"It was like I still had that one little drop of trust still in my system when it came to you, and when you went on to fight with Jesse...it totally emptied all the trust I had, because you didn't listen to me," I said, looking down, but I still felt Harry's eyes on me.

"I didn't know if I was able to rebuild that trust back up again, until I realized ...that I missed you," I said, looking at Harry and I saw a rose color blend in within his cheeks as a small smile came to his face along with his dimples just trying to budge out into the open.

"It was a horrible pain, and I didn't want to feel it again, so I had to let that past go," I said, looking back down towards my hands, looking at the orange nail polish with the streak of green through the middle painted on my nails.

"But before...I wanted to go with my dad when I was smaller. I didn't want to stay with my mother any longer," I started off another memory I had.

"I was going to leave with the wrong person," I said, as I started to chip off the nail polish on my nails, until Harry stopped me by placing his hands on mine.

"No one is just wrong, everyone has a good side, Selena," Harry spoke up, and I looked toward him, feeling the sun still burning in my back, but it's power wasn't as strong as the electricity I felt running through my hands from Harry's touch.

"Now stop getting emotional, you're chipping off my favorite color," he said, trying to get me out of my mindful state, and I looked at my hands with a bit of excitement, because I was wearing his favorite color.

"Orange is your favorite color?" I asked with a smile, and excitement as he laughed. I felt butterflies flutter in my stomach every time he laughed, and the sound of his laugh was wonderful to my ears.

"Yes," he responded as he pulled me down from the car, and I smiled that I had one of his favorite's.

"No wonder your room had such a bright look to it," I said, leaning against the car, and he laughed again at my interest in his own favor of something.

"It absolutely does, but I think my bestest favorite thing-Bestest favorite thing?" I interrupted him at his crazy phrase he just came up with.

"Yes, my bestest favorite thing," he stated again, and I nodded, going along with it.

"Is the star that sits so perfectly still, but shine so bright without reacting towards anything," he said, and leaned his forehead against mine.

"What do you mean 'reacting towards anything'?" I asked, as I felt him interlace our hands together and I kept my eyes captivated to his eyes.

"I mean that you don't seem to even try to shine so bright," he said, and I realized I was the star as I smile. Harry eased his lips lightly across mine, as I felt the static and haziness of me sinking into another dream. His words were like a song to my mind, as his lips pressed into mine, sending me to his world.
