Each going at Corey, he defended himself well. Blocked many of their attacks, even Kheni's and Prime's. They truly thought moving at the speed of a vampire had been an advantage.
However Corey had been trained to anticipate many encounters. He's learned to use the speed of vampires against them. Just as Travion would have done if he was here, Corey trained the kids twice a week.
Having strength isn't enough to win a battle. You need to be smart, agile, quick, and strong. It was more to that, but there were specifics he wanted to train them on.
Sossi's family doesn't train with the pack. Instead Dominic and Hunter focus on combat skills while Kai specializes with swords. It's imperative that each one of them can defend themselves against anything.
Corey made sure they trained every two days just as Quincy. Quincy didn't grow up training like the rest of them, so he's a little behind. But he's a quick learner and catches on quickly.
"I'm sorry for the money Sossi" Quincy chose to apologize in the middle of a sword fight. Quincy was hardly using any force, though he could block her attacks really well with the swords.
She was fighting with confidence and a means to defeat her attacker. In her mind, Quincy wasn't her mate. She was his trainer and he was her trainee.
He had been passed around during the time of training. He's trained with Corey many times, also Dominic, Kai, Victoria and now Sossi. After that day, he thought he could win her over again.
However she had been more than serious on keeping their bond from growing. She's been ignoring him and avoiding him longer than three weeks and he really hates it.
Instead of last time, he didn't want to take the challenging approach. It would agitate her and he wanted nothing more than for her to pay attention to him. Acknowledge him.
Swinging the sword harshly across his head, he ducked just in time before she could slice his head off. She wasn't in the mate mood and he was. His inability to focus was going to get him hurt.
"Chop my head off, why don't you?" He said sarcastically. Stepping back, he twirled the sword around his finger before arriving back in his defense stance. She didn't hesitate to swing her sword and he blocked it.
The two went head to head again as she fought with aggression and a means to prove her strength. Moving forward with her feet, he was moving backwards as she continued to pursue him.
Spinning around thinking she would end him, he smashed his sword against her and the two had been hauled in a position. Her arm was up blocking his as both of their swords were pushing against each other.
He didn't try using all his strength, but she did. She wanted to defeat him so he would focus. All this time she's been focusing on herself, but him too. He was out of it and she needed him to be in it.
Training was about learning to protect yourself. Protect from anyone and everyone. "Talk to me" He gritted through his teeth. His foot had been sliding against the ground as she pushed him. Her eyes lit yellow and so did his.
The two using their strength, he began pushing her backwards and she looked down at his feet to see it pushing forward. Glancing back at him, he had a smirk on his face. One she intended to wipe away.
Taking the risk of sliding, she threw her foot towards him and it went smacking right across his face and shoving him away. He stumbled and she took the sword to get his sword to release from his grasp.
He had gotten too confident in himself and that was strictly the problem. Even being shown she wasn't interested, he had more than enough confidence that he'll win her.
