"I'm hurt. You're replacing me" Gio said in a playfully saddened way. Hearing Camilla softly laugh to herself, they walked down the hall and stopped at Ava and Gio who were standing there at their lockers which were now on opposite halls though across from each other.

"No, he very much would save you before I" She said in a playfully but serious tone. She understood his love for Giovanni would never be topped with anyone. Not even her. During their few days of being together, he had to explain to her his situation.

Telling her everything about the supernatural world wasn't needed as she didn't care to know either.

However, he told her about his and Iymani's situation. He had even given her space when he let her stay in his room the same night and he stayed in the guest room.

Apparently, she didn't want space as she came and crawled in bed with him.

"Are you asleep?" She whispered to him as she saw his eyes were closed. He was laying on his side with his arm stretched above him and curved to the side around the pillow. He hadn't completely slept as he wasn't able to.

Having Camilla makes him relaxed and calm, but it doesn't keep the nightmares away.

Only thinking with his eyes closed. He thought he could rest his eyes and not sleep at the same time. Truthfully, he was thinking of all the ways their relationship could play out.

It's not easy accepting your boyfriend, the one you're in love with is mates with someone else. Not to mention he's friends with his mate who doesn't even know. She trusts Ryan, but she didn't trust his wolf as neither did he.

But he was sure he couldn't feel for Iymani. A mate is supposed to make you calm and relaxed through anything, but before she left, he felt anything but that.

He wanted to silence her anyway he could. But he knew killing her or harming her would make him worse than Cèsar.

Wrapping his arm around her waist, he pulled her towards him so she knew he was awake. He just did want to open his eyes and see the disappointment. He didn't know what she would say. He confessed his love for her.

Something he thought wasn't even possible for him. What if it was her to break his heart? What if it was him being a supernatural that ended them?

He couldn't live with knowing him being exactly him had ended then. Not after she told him she loved him.

Not just in the heat of passion, but she also told him when they were asleep. Going to sleep that is. Until he ruined their morning and told her the truth.

"Can you look at me? I don't want to talk to you with your eyes closed" She informed him. Deeply sighing, he refused to open his eyes and look at her.

There's two things that can make a supernatural being go crazy and lose all care for humanity.

Heartbreak and grief. Anger makes them violent, but not emotionally damaged. He knew if she was to tell him they were done and he was staring into her eyes as she said it, he wouldn't be the same.

Feeling her hand rest on his head, her thumb ventured across his forehead and he pulled her closer as comfort of feeling her touch.

Ryan felt disappointed as he felt her back abandon his hand and he wanted to cry knowing she was done.

But the unexpected came as he felt her lips gently press against his as it left shortly. Though the feeling came back as he lowered his lips and claimed her mouth in a lingering kiss as wild emotions surged within and washed his defenses away.
