78. Unexpected turn

"Didn't think I'll see the day we're defeated by a young vampire" Trevon said. Any enemies they've encountered, they've defeated them. Now a younger vampire had gotten to them. If only their past enemies knew who to actually target, they might have won too.

"I wouldn't say we were defeated. More like we won" Legend thought otherwise. They were sitting down on the couch talking as if they were a big happy family. They were a family, just not a big happy one. They were still missing a few people.

"How did we win Legend? We're literally a day away from the wedding. A day away from Isabelle being a part of our family after she literally tried destroying it" Trevon voiced. No one liked Isabelle and it wasn't a secret.

They couldn't understand why Ryder agreed to this and not to war which they were sure they would win. Only person who actually noticed it was Legend, who had been Ryder's best friend for centuries.

"Well none of us have died– permanently" He added due to the way Trevon was looking at him. "No one has gone on killing sprees, Ryan still has his humanity, Travion is a father again and Ryder is getting a wife" He listed

Trevon sort of froze when he heard Travion's name. Last time he saw him, they were helping Ryan and Travion didn't even acknowledge him. Trevon didn't think he was taking what he said so seriously. He didn't like it and he actually wanted and needed his brother.

He just didn't know how to say it.

"Want to explain how Ryder marrying our enemy is good?" Celeb strolled over to them. He was happy Isabelle didn't attend the day before the wedding and chose to stay with her vampires at her place. He didn't think he would show up if she came.

"Sorry to break it to you Celeb, but Ryder is more than happy to marry Isabelle. Or should I say Isabella" Legend cackled. "That's not funny" Celeb stated. He didn't take the joke as something humorous the way Legend did.

Only it wasn't a joke. "Oh no I'm serious. Ryder finally got his groove back" He stated. Celeb and Trevon stared at him confused as they didn't know what he meant. "Jesus. They're having sex. And have been for a while" He snitched.

He didn't put it above him considering Ryder hadn't encountered a woman he's been attracted to for a while. When he speaks about Isabelle, he calls her Isabella while everyone calls her Isabelle. That alone was a sign he took likings in Isabelle.

Ryder has been adamant about making sure everything was perfect and she got everything she wanted on her list. Not to mention Ryder has grown this aggressive side where he's more demanding and serious about things.

Which he never is. Legend hadn't seen Ryder behave this way since he first met Dalia. All this wasn't enough proof, so Legend followed Ryder one day. He went to Isabelle's place and didn't leave till hours later.

Just as he did today. He wasn't at the mansion, he woke up with Isabelle and came home. Legend knew everything Ryder was doing. Yet he didn't care because there was no point in caring. Ryder didn't care what people said or thought.

Besides, Isabelle technically did nothing to Ryan or Legend's children. What was the grudge for?

"No point in nagging him about it Celeb. Besides, you can't be mad. You killed the girl's parents" Legend stated. That didn't do anything and didn't earn sympathy either.

"Her father tried to kill me. I did what I had to do" He defended himself. "What about her mother and the rest of her bloodline? Clearly she was the only one left alive" Legend continued to push the subject which uneased Celeb.

"Her mother would be doing the same thing she's doing right now. I got rid of them all to protect myself and I would've killed her if I was a monster hellbent on hunting her down, but I wasn't. Didn't think she even remembered or would be alive right now".
