"Francesca You look so stunning today, thank you for coming." My aunt said creeping up behind me as I was out side with Beverly. We tried hiding the blunts behind our back and stepped back a bit. "Of course, and congrats." I said with a cheeky smile. I was waiting on my mother and Gio so we can go out to eat before Giovanni leaves again.
"Thank you. I heard you finally opened that hospital, how is it going." She asked fixing her dress. I looked at her and took a deep breath. "I opened it 4 years ago and you were at the party we threw. Kat you were even at the opening." She looked stunned, I never called her by her name. "That's right I remember now." And she smiled softly before leaving and I rolled my eyes looking at Beverly again.
Finally Vanni came outside with mom and were ready to go. "I forgot my bag inside I'll be back." I said as he took the blunt away from me, and took it for him self. When I headed inside I spotted my bag on the chair I was sitting in. Everyone was dancing and having fun still and people were still coming in and out of the building. I was going to head through the front like I came in but to much people were there.
I headed out the back and when I did I saw the boys from before talking. Reid caught my eye and smiled at me. I smiled and waved intending to just walk by but he didn't allow that. Just as I was going to step past him he stepped in front of me quickly almost bumping into me. I turned and his friend leaned on the car with his head tilt just looking me up and down.
I strapped my bag around me and looked up at him as I tucked my hair behind my ears. "Leaving me so soon?" He asked crossing his arms over his chest. "Would you miss me if I said, yes?" I asked checking the watch on my wrist. "Why miss someone I'm going to see soon?" He looked me up and down so slowly it sent shivers down my back. "What ever keeps your dick hard."
I walked past him and went back up to everyone. We all took different cars Eve road with me since we came together. We were driving for 30 minutes as we were on a 3 way call trying to find out what we wanted to eat and finally we decided on Mexican food.
When we got to the restaurant it was beautiful as always, I remember coming here as a child. And while we were walking to our table, I spotted a patient of mine. Halston.
He waved and I waved back with a smile as I sat down. He was at a table with many men and it looked like they were dealing money. I know this place has a bad history with cops but it never stopped me. We looked over the menu before the waitress came over. She was a beautiful brunette and immediately locked eyes with Giovanni and he smiled.
After taking our order she left, giving a smile to him and my moms phone when off. She declined the calls but her eyes immediately met mines. "Why are you letting corporate get involved in something so small? That hospital can not have any complications to have corporate investigation."
I was taken a back by her words then I remembered the meeting I had a few days ago. "Wasn't your name completely removed from the hospital last year? Why are you still in connection with what's going on?" She rolled her eyes at me placing the phone down after typing something.
I'll never be more grateful to my mother for buying me that hospital because it's my whole heart and soul. But each time she gets involved it's like she's ripping my soul apart. She doesn't listen and she doesn't care if it doesn't help her at some point.
When our food was brought to us I looked up to thank the waitress but instead my eye caught Halston's he was leaned over talking to a man dressed in all black writing something down. His eyes were on me as he talked. He looked me up and down very slowly and I was nothing more than uncomfortable and I shot him a nasty look before turning away.
"Gio how's work?" Beverly asked picking at her food, trying to start a conversation. "To be honest I'd do anything to finish this project by next week." His words quickly reminded me of what next week was.
"That's right next week is the carnival." It was the spring carnival at the beach of Venice, Italy. It was always Vanni and some random girl, Beverly and her 'friend' Ava. I chose to never bring someone and I was fine with that. "I'd never miss it for the world." He reassured us.
"I swear you guys are childish at heart." I showed my mother a fake smile after her sentence. "Well as long as you say that knowing where we got it from."
