As Reid, King, and Gabriele standing behind them like a lost puppy stood before me with several men in all black behind them, my pager went off again. It was an all clear after seeing me with them. I was still holding the child and Reid looked at me as if he was mine but I didn't correct him.

"The contract isn't on me so you can go wait-" I was cut off by Gabriele coming from behind the boys hold the contract in hand. "Don't worry I went  through your office and found it." She had a shit eating grin on her face, amused. I didn't want to curse in front of the child so I took a deep breath.

"Then why are you still here?" I looked up to Reid but his eyes were solid on my boobs. "Wanted to make sure you knew we have the papers." He said not even acknowledging my face. "Well I know." I told him pointing to the front door.

"Mr. Can I see you ring?" Micky slurred his words as he tried to reach for Reid's ring causing him to look up. "No." He didn't even think about it. "I'm so sorry he didn't mean to ask." His mother jumped in from behind me. "No need to apologize ma'am. Doctor." King bowed his head to me before slipping off one of his rings and handing it to Micky getting him excited.

He nudged at Reid shoulder basically pushing them all out of the door. I took a deep breath to gather myself and put on a bright smile for Micky who was trying to fit the ring that was to big for him. "Let's get you booked and into a cool room bud." I said before turning to Thiago who was behind me as well. "It's an all clear, sorry to waist your time?"

"You know those guys Francesca?" He asked and I turned to look out the glass doors watching them al get into separate cars though my eyes were mainly fixed on Reid. "Just some friends." I lied looking back at him. He nodded at his phone rang. "Stay safe and tell Giovanni I said hello." He kissed my forehead as he left.

Jocelyn also leaving to answer her pager. I took Micky and his mom to a room decorated for the children on the second floor of the hospital that was dedicated to kids. Just how I wanted it when I was 18. I gave him back to his mother and he laid his head on her chest as I handed her paper work.

"So Ms.?" "Kathy, you can just call me Kathy." She had a smile on her first for the first time since I seen her. "Okay Kathy. I am currently not a pediatric surgeon your going to have to sign for me to do the surgery. If you chose not to that's okay but I will still be in the operating room to assist."

She immediately signed the papers and gave them to me and just as I was going to leave the so nurses could help them she called me back in. "Dr. Romano, I'm not so sure if you'll be able to do the surgery yet." She put her head down, Micky fidgeting with the ring still. "Why would that be?"

"Micky doesnt have insurance." She mumbled and I took it lightly. "That won't hold me from doing the surgery. We could just place him under your insurance and get the surgery done in a few days."

"I don't have any either." That's when I put my hair back in a ponytail and took a deep breath. "Then the money for what seems like several surgeries is going to come out of pocket." I tried explaining in a soft voice. "Look it fits." Micky yelled lifting his head and showing me his hand where he placed the ring on two fingers.

I noticed his fingers almost molding into one as the ring pushed his fingers together. "Micky can you fist your hand for me?" And he did with his other hand. His hands we so delicate and looked like a feather ready to break. "Maybe this surgery can't wait." I thought to myself as I quickly paged Jocelyn as an emergency.

Once she got up to the room we quickly took Micky for a CT down stairs and left Kathy waiting in the room. I sat in a chair as Jocelyn sat on the table in front of me as we waited for the scans to show up. "I don't know what I'm going to tell her if we can't do the surgery on him." I said throwing a red ball up in the air and catching it over and over again. "There's nothing you can do." Shes right.

"Francesca?" She said slowly causing me to drop the ball and it hitting my head. Rubbing my forehead I followed her eyesight to the computer screens that covered the whole room around us. "How is he moving?" Our eyes widened.

To normal people a tumor is so nasty and unbelievably painful to them. Even to some surgeons a brain tumor is wrongful. All those things are correct however to someone like me who actually loves the human brain this brought me out of my seat.

I walked around the room looking at all the angels of the CT scans. "Francesca that's his whole brain covered your not going to risk it are you?" She got close behind my back but I was filled with adrenaline, this is exactly what I wanted, needed.

I wanted to break into pieces trying to pick up Micky's. I needed something to pull me from reality and this is exactly that. Nothing on the screens here is realistically possible but I'm in the mood to say fuck it. "You can't talk a mad woman out of being mad Jocelyn."

I whispered to her and I heard the sigh she let out. "No insurance remember?" I turned to look at her with a smile on my face. "We don't know that. We never heard that, understood?"

I can pull a few strings.
