Holding a jacket over his shoulder, Jungkook took unsteady steps into his living quarter. The event that occurred in Saya's new apartment was torturing him by replaying in his mind while her silence to his plea charred his heart. Bumping into a piece of furniture he nearly toppled down but Taehyung was quick to catch him in mid-air.
"Your hand..." He trailed off internally groaning in frustration witnessing the state the younger male arrived home.
"Diva bandaged it" Jungkook gave his brother a faint smile as he helped him to sit on the couch.
"What about her wound?" Taehyung asked. Being the spectator of their tumultuous relationship, he was sure they both inflicted an equal amount of physical and emotional pain on each other.
"I took care of it..." Jungkook informed gaping at him with a sheepish smile and Taehyung nodded his head positioning himself beside the younger male.
"She cried a lot" Jungkook began, his face morphing into a reflection of sorrow and guilt lacing his low voice.
"I wanted to stay with her to make sure she doesn't do anything stupid but she didn't allow it" Jungkook revealed recollecting the broken state the girl he loved was in when he left her apartment.
"She won't do anything stupid, she is stronger than that" Taehyung assured Jungkook by rubbing his back in an attempt to make him feel better.
They remained in complete silence for a while simply listening to the ticking of the huge pendulum clock in the room, engrossed in their own deep thought, hurting to see their beloved ones in pain. The plethora of unspoken words Taehyung wished to scream to the younger man, perhaps even jerk him harshly to show him how destructive his relationship was with Saya. But his hands were tied as his brother had willingly blindfolded himself to avoid the truth. Even attempting to shed light on the reality was futile to someone locked in delusions.
Exhaling his breath, Taehyung held in to restrain his anger and he finally decided to speak out ignoring the consequences.
"You should let her go..."
Jungkook snapped his head towards Taehyung, his jaws twitching in fury. He breathed out harshly and shook his head as though even considering leaving Saya as an option was nonsensical.
"Listen to me before you lash out" Taehyung interrupted before Jungkook could react aggressively.
"Nothing is going to change by forcing her to be with you," he mentioned as Jungkook pushed his tongue against the inner wall of his cheeks with his face laced in disapproval.
"You both are going down the path of complete insanity. I am scared I will lose you if this continues"
No matter how hard Taehyung tried to persuade Jungkook to give up on Saya for the sake of their salvation, he remained adamant. As if Taehyung was talking to a stone and none of his words could get into Jungkook's compact skin.
"I know she is habituated with you but she doesn't love you..."
"DIVA LOVES ME" Jungkook's loud and clear voice cut Taehyung off as he wouldn't accept anything less than what he asserted.
"Of course, she does" Taehyung immediately took back his words.
"She wouldn't have jumped to save you if she didn't love you" he reminded to back his statement up.
"What I meant is not the way you want her to love you. But this can change if you can create an opportunity for her to miss you" Taehyung took Jungkook's hand in between his and squeezed them hoping he would reconsider his words.
"You need to let her feel what it means to lose you and trust me when you stop running behind her, Diva will go crazy. She will come back to you on her own. Just give her that space where she can realize how much you mean to her," Jungkook retracted his hand and firmly shook his head rejecting Taehyung's suggestion.
"It won't work" he confirmed because the fear of her not returning to him was stronger.
"I can't risk it" he stated running his fingers through his hair and standing up, he began pacing to and fro. Even the mere thought of letting her go brought a great amount of distress within him. Whenever he would try to imagine his life without her, his body would shake to the point he feared he would crumble down like he was made up of clay.
People just couldn't grasp how important she was to him. She wasn't just a girl he had sex with, their relationship was the whole point of his existence. Losing her would be like losing his identity, his will, and his passion. There would be no point in living if he couldn't wake up every morning and hold her first.
"You don't know her as I do. The moment I will step back she will..." He couldn't even bring himself to utter the words as overwhelming grief punched him in his guts.
Taehyung shut his eyes close, letting out a shuddered sigh, and only after composing himself did he turn to Jungkook to speak. "If she goes then let her go"
"Are you out of your mind?" Jungkook chuckled mirthlessly hearing his absurd idea.
"You want me to let her free so that she can run to him?" he was laughing but his heart was about to blast from the intensity of grief that filled his veins.
"I will rather burn this entire world into ashes than let her go to him" he claimed and Taehyung didn't question his brother's declarations either.
Everyone including their father knew Jungkook would rather kill or die than let her go. This is why to prevent the bloodbath, Damian exiled his eldest from their country.
"But you are not seeing the whole picture here" Taehyung stood up on his feet and ambled in front of his brother.
"It has been three years, do you really think Jimin is still waiting for a miracle to happen so that she could escape and come to him? He gave up on her the moment he packed his bag and left. Diva needs to realize this in order to move on and accept you" He clutched Jungkook's shoulders and yanked his body to get the fact straight in his head.
"She blames you for driving Jimin away so the moment she will realize, the man she loved had actually given up on her, she will come back to the man who loves her" Nibblings his lips, Jungkook peeped at Taehyung as he was hesitant even though his brother's points were convincing.
"What if he is in fact waiting? what if they..." his voice clogged in his throat as the image of them being together surfaced in his mind. The urge of wanting to puke grew within him recalling the pictures of them tangled in each other's arms and the same emotion that lead him to almost kill his Eldest half-brother flooded into him.
"I can make sure that won't happen" Jungkook hesitantly nodded his head at Taehyung's statement. A smirk countered Taehyung's face after managing to convince Jungkook to set Diva free. His heart thumped in bliss pondering how he would also make sure that she would never return back to Venessia and maybe disappear without any clue. No one would know a thing and just like that, he would also be saving his love from the toxicity he always wished to eliminate.
