"He is here tonight, Saya. Jungkook came to the gala."
Saya's heart skipped a beat, her breath catching in her throat. She steadied herself against the nearest table, her fingers gripping its edge, as waves of worry and frustration crashed over her. "Why would he do something so reckless? Doesn't he understand the danger he's putting himself in?"
Namjoon's shoulders sagged with guilt. "He's stubborn, we tried but...."
Of course, he was stubborn. Saya clenched her jaw, frustration simmering beneath the surface of her skin. Why did she even entertain the notion that Jungkook would comply? In their last encounter, she had barely persuaded him to withhold his reactions until the right moment. If this pattern continued, she was certain all of them would end up dead.
Her body trembled as she fought to contain the whirlwind of emotions threatening to overwhelm her.
"He can't be here. If Taehyung even catches wind of it, our plan will fail before it even begins." Her voice fluttered with urgency as she pressed a hand against her racing chest. Namjoon understood the gravity of the situation. Unlike Jungkook, he never underestimated the intelligence of the man who had fooled the entire world into being his followers.
But just as cunning as Taehyung was, his half-brother was headstrong. No amount of reasoning or persuasion could sway him from the belief that attending the gala to see the girl he loved was anything but a disastrous idea.
"That brat! Where is he?" Saya stepped forward inquiring.
"He's on the same floor as us," Namjoon stated, pausing to rub his forehead with a weary finger. "There's a staff room connected to the washroom at the end of the hallway."
"Fuck" Saya was pacing left and right. Realizing that Taehyung and Jungkook were so near to each other made her heart tug in anxiety. If god knew somehow they would come face to face, hell would break out and the casualty would be her daughter.
Namjoon's phone vibrated, and after a brief glance, he informed her promptly, "He is approaching."
Saya's heart quickened at the news. She took a few deep breaths to compose herself, feeling the weight of anticipation settle in her chest. With a deliberate sweep of her hand, she pushed her hair backward, her fingers trembling slightly with nervous energy. As a cue, she began chuckling, pretending to be engrossed in the ongoing conversation with Namjoon.
"And what did she say?" Saya questioned trying to sound amused.
"Oh, hell, she was absolutely furious, I must say," Namjoon replied, his tone light, playing along with her.
Taehyung could hear the laughter between them but he didnt reveal himself yet but slowed his stride listening to their conversation unfold.
"I would be furious as well if my husband lost his passport while going on my honeymoon" She chuckled.
"By the way, where did Your Excellency go for your honeymoon?" he directed the question feigning a genuine curiosity.
"Please call me Saya, I feel old when you use that word," Saya responded, her tone lightened by a gentle smile before she continued. "Taehyung and my marriage wasn't quite traditional, especially considering the circumstances surrounding our marriage," Saya explained with a touch of seriousness.
"We couldn't go on our honeymoon, However, if the opportunity ever presents itself, there's no doubt that Avalon would be our destination of choice."
