The three brothers stood in somber silence outside the room, their family doctor inside attending to their beloved Diva. Each lost in his own thoughts, grappling with the overwhelming feelings of guilt and shame that gnawed their hearts as they waited for news of Diva's condition. The discomfort and unease that had previously hung heavy in their interactions, now irrelevant. At this moment, all that mattered was to ensure the incident never be repeated again.

"I will fucking kill him," Taehyung's words cut through the air like a sharp knife, causing Jungkook to turn his attention to him. He couldn't understand the sudden intensity of Taehyung's emotions, and his confusion was evident as he stared at the older male with narrowed eyes. Taehyung, who was usually calm and composed, was now in a state of chaos, constantly fiddling with his fingers and Jungkook found himself wondering precisely when his brother began caring for Diva so much.

Jimin rolled his eyes, sarcastic replies hanging on his tongue swallowed as the place and time weren't appropriate.  Unlike his younger half-siblings, he was more pensive. Their father was a wise man who had single-handedly built an entire country from ashes, and he never took any step recklessly. He was sure there must have been a strong reason behind his brutal action, and he was determined to find out.

"What happened in the yacht?" Jimin cut straight to the point, his gaze unwavering.

Taehyung snickered at Jimin's audacity to question him, his eyes flickering to Jungkook, who watched his every move intently waiting for his response. He straightened himself and stared directly into Jimin's eyes as he spoke. "I told her the truth," he said, his voice steady and resolute.

Jungkook and Jimin's eyes widened in shock as Taehyung's words sank in. Each of them carried a hidden truth, carefully guarded from Diva. One had hidden the fact that her escape was staged while the other had initiated their relationship under false pretenses. And with one shot, Taehyung had managed to hit both targets with alarming accuracy.

Jimin's voice was low and dangerous as he almost growled, "You wouldn't."

"But, I did," came the cool reply.

Jimin's fists were clenched, and he was ready to launch at Taehyung, but Jungkook was quick to intervene. "What the hell are you guys doing?" he exclaimed.

"Wasnt fractured rib enough? You want her to suffer more?" he pushed Taehyung back breaking the fight before it ensued.

"Your truth is least of my concern," Jungkook pressed every sentence for them to soak in. "Diva shouldn't be bearing the consequence of your actions"

"Says the one who ruined her life with his one action" Taehyung barked jerking his hand off his shoulder. Jungkook was taken aback by Taehyung's crude behavior but he fought to maintain his stance.

"You want her safe huh?," Taehyung gave a scornful simper as if the statement Jungkook had spoken was the biggest joke of the year," Then die...fucking kill yourself both of you" His smile dropped as he snarled.

"So that you can have her?" Jimin challenged Taehyung.

"What?" Jungkook turned to Jimin perplexed by his statement.

"What is he talking about?" he demanded a response from Taehyung.

Jimin stepped forward, his eyes fixed on Taehyung. "He doesn't know, does he?" he asked quietly. "He doesn't know who you really are."

The air was thick with tension as they faced each other, all three unwilling to yield. The anger built up but before it would turn into a full-blown fight the door creaked fully open, revealing their family Doctor. The three brothers took a deep breath, trying to calm themself as they stepped aside to let the doctor in.

"She has gained her consciousness" He announced and all three let out a deep sigh in relief.

Taehyung was first to hasten to get into the room but the doctor blocked the way with an apologetic smile. "She has asked only for Jungkook" he revealed and Jungkook hurriedly entered the room leaving behind his disheartened brothers followed by the doctor.

Inside, Diva was resting against the headrest inquiring about her injury. She appeared weak and fragile, with dark circles under her eyes. Her complexion was pale and even her normally sparkling eyes seemed dull and lifeless. But the moment she noticed Jungkook, a smile counted on her face "Gukie" she gestured for him to sit beside her and he heeded her request.

"Don't worry, it's nothing," She brushed his hair away from his face as she spoke noticing his concerns. "The doctor said I'll be up and running in three to six weeks," she said, her tone laced with optimism.

"But don't you think it is too long to wait for our engagement..."

"Noona" Jungkook interrupted stunned by her words. He couldn't figure out why she was pretending to be fine. He couldn't understand how she could so easily brush off the severity of her injuries. She had been brutally beaten until she passed out, and yet she acted as though it was a mere inconvenience.

"Noona, you were beaten up till you passed out. How can you say it was nothing? moreover, why are you talking about engagement in such a condition." Jungkook spoke with a stern voice, trying to convey the seriousness of the situation to her.

But Diva's expression remained stoic as she patted his cheeks. "Oh dear, this is a mere scratch compared to what I have endured all these years,"

Her words struck Jungkook like a blow to the gut. A powerful wave of emotions had crashed over him, leaving him dazed and vulnerable. He felt his body tense up, his muscles coiling like a spring as he struggled to process the weight of her words.

When the silence stretched out for more than a minute Diva cleared her throat to break the stillness. "Gukie," she began

"Our engagement should be the first priority. Us being together is the only thing that should matter" she mentioned with hopeful eyes that only managed to vex Jungkook.

Did she not understand the gravity of the situation they were in? One wrong move from any of them and his father would make sure Diva would pay her life as the price.

"What are you saying?" Jungkook jerked up on his feet. He wanted to pull his hair in frustration but he fought the urge to scream "You nearly died two days ago then this..."Jungkook went on his knee holding her hands in between his.

"Tell me what's wrong ?" he pleaded for her to reveal the reason behind her unusual behavior. The more he interacted with Diva the more he could sense something had awfully gone wrong. Different doubts had crowded his mind, each one of them equally daunting.

"Nothing is wrong," she said quietly, her words like a cold slap in the face. "Everything is just as it should be."

There was something off about her, though a faint smile lingered on her lips, something was distant and detached. He couldn't help but feel like he was losing her like she was slipping away from him. Right at that moment Jimin's words rang in his ears. Gulping the dryness in his throat he mustered up words to ask.

"What happened in the yacht?"

Diva's smile faltered, slipping off her face like a mask that had been torn away. It took a moment or two before Diva could compose herself. Adorning another one of a fake smile she pulled Jungkook closer as she spoke. The fabric of his shirt felt soft against her fingers as she spoke, her voice low and measured.

"We're okay," she said, the words sounding hollow even to her own ears.

"In less than a year, I will be Mrs Kimeron Diva. In less than a year, I will be your wife and that's all that should matter
