The office was the epitome of modern design, a testament to the power of clean lines, functional simplicity, and cutting-edge technology. The walls wore a shade of crisp, immaculate Yale blue, and the floor, fashioned from gleaming marble, shone in the light of the room's sleek fixtures. Commanding attention at the center of the space was a massive table of polished, dark wood that gleamed like a jewel under the light. Opposite it, a wall-mounted flat-screen television broadcasted the faces of numerous attendees, participating in the meeting from afar. The room was outfitted with top-of-the-line audio and video gear, enabling the participants to connect and work together effortlessly, regardless of their locations. To the side, a row of floor-to-ceiling windows offered a panoramic view of the sprawling city skyline, casting the room in a mesmerizing glow.
Taehyung sat across from the flat-screen television, his formidable presence filling the room. His stern expression and no-nonsense attitude set the tone for the meeting, as he deftly navigated the negotiations. For an hour, they went back and forth, each point of contention met with his unwavering resolve. Finally, Taehyung leaned back in his chair with a satisfied smirk, having successfully hammered out the details of the agreement.
"I think we have a deal," he said.
A faint knock echoed through the room, but Taehyung paid little attention to it. He first bid farewell to the representative of the Kingdom of Isanna, his mind still reeling from their intense negotiations. It was only after the envoy signed out of the virtual meeting that he granted entry to the unexpected guest.
When his butler entered the room, he could predict the nature of the emergency. The downcasted look on his face gave away what the crisis revolved around as he only had one job assigned. Taehyung rose from his chair, a deep sigh escaping him as he asked the inevitable question.
"When did it happen?" he demanded, his voice tinged with frustration.
"Around noon, sir," the butler replied, his tone apologetic. "Sir Damian announced the celebration to be held on the first week of next month."
Taehyung simply nodded. It came as no shock to him to hear of his brother's engagement; the announcement had been a long time coming, and he had been anticipating it, especially after yesterday night's confrontation. Of course, he knew he wouldn't be invited to the ceremony. His father had made it his personal mission to keep him away from Diva, going so far as to assign two guards to patrol the path leading to her quarters, ensuring he couldn't pass through. The restrictions seemed to apply only to him, though; he had heard whispers of Jimin slipping in and out of her chambers without any trouble.
With a quick glance at his watch, he realized there was still a chance to make it in time for dinner. If they hurried, they could join his father, brother, and soon-to-be sister-in-law for a meal to celebrate.
"In the meantime, send some white lilies to their room." He ordered pacing out of the office as his butler followed, noting down everything.
"...and start with the preparation for the engagement gift" As he arrived at the entrance, his expensive and sleek ride was waiting for departure with its engine humming.
Taehyung gracefully climbed inside the vehicle, his loyal butler trailing behind him. Once inside, he settled into a contemplative silence, his fingers idly toying with the ring on his hand. All the while, he listened intently to the update he had been given about his dear brother and his new fiance. Despite Taehyung's outward appearance of composure and poise, there was an unsettling quietness in the air that hinted at an impending storm. The brooding stillness that surrounded Taehyung gave Seokjin a sense of foreboding. While he could only speculate about the nature of Taehyung's inner struggle, Seokjin was certain that it was far from benign.
