Once the funeral had ended, the guest gathered in the lobby of the generous state giving their condolence to Damian, however, the boy who had lost his mother was nowhere to be seen. Diva politely excused herself from the crowd and went to the corner only she knew she would find him.
Diva pushed the tall and imposing mahogany wooden doors which was the entrance to the library, hidden in the cozy confines of the majestic mansion. As soon as she stepped into the room, the nostalgic scent of aged parchment and the faint aroma of freshly brewed coffee enveloped her, instantly transporting her back in time to memories filled with laughter and cherished warm cuddles.
The soft glow of sunlight filtered through ornate stained glass windows, bathing the space in a warm, golden aura. The windows, framed with heavy velvet drapes, overlook a meticulously landscaped garden. The library's walls are adorned with rich mahogany bookshelves, gracefully lined with an impressive collection of leather-bound books and well-loved pieces of literature. A plush, Persian rug with intricate patterns weaving a tapestry sprawls across the floor and nestled in a corner, an old-fashioned fireplace adds a touch of nostalgic charm, providing both warmth and comfort to readers on chilly days.
In a secluded nook, lodged among the shadows in the furthest, Diva found Jimin sitting on the ground. His body was huddled in a crouched position, and his head rested gently against his knees. His shoulders were hunched and trembling with each sob that escaped his lips. Beside him, she gracefully crouched down, pulling her knees close to her chest as she hugged them tightly. In that intimate moment, silence enveloped them both, as she offered her presence without uttering a word.
As Jimin leaned his head against her shoulder, she tenderly intertwined their fingers, providing comfort and support. Hours passed, and they remained in that heartfelt embrace until his tears finally dried.
In that vulnerable moment, Jimin spoke softly, his voice filled with nostalgia and fondness. "This place, right here, I gave myself to you for the first time," he confessed, a gentle smile gracing his lips.
Her heart swelled with the memories he recounted, and she whispered back, "Everyone was on vacation except for us, and we ran into each other in the library." The reminiscence of their encounter tugged all of her heartstrings.
"It wasn't coincident you know" Jimin revealed."I would wait for you every day from sunrise to sunset" His word left her breathless, realizing the depth of his feelings.
"When you handed me the letter, I was so confused but it didnt take me time to understand whom those letters were truely for..." he admitted, tears glistening in his eyes.
His words unfolded a painful truth, and he continued, "At that time, he had everything—father's love, everyone's acceptance, and finding out he also had the affection of the girl I loved, I became greedy."
"I just wanted to be loved by you," he confessed, laying bare his innermost desires.
Diva's eyes soften as her lips trembled but no words escaped from them only a labored breath.
"I was young, I could not grasp the consequence of my deception so I stole pages from his diary and gave you as letters" He shared the weight of regret that burdened his heart.
"I am sorry, my one mistake ruined your life, I became the catalyst of your destruction "Guilt weighed heavily upon him, and he apologized.
At that moment, she no longer held animosity toward him. They both were victims of their circumstances, it was her fate that was cruel.
