For a moment, time seemed to stand still as they locked eyes, Saya's breath caught in her throat, her mind racing as she struggled to comprehend the implications of his unexpected presence.
"T-Taehyung," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper, her heart hammering in her chest.
Taehyung's silence was deafening, his steely gaze fixed on Saya without a flicker of emotion. As he emerged from the hidden doorway, his bloodshot eyes spoke volumes, the gun in his hand adding a chill to the air. There was no warmth in his approach, only a cold determination that made Saya stagger backward involuntarily.
The moment news of Seol's disappearance and Jimin's escape reached him, Taehyung's first instinct was to retrieve the mansion's blueprint. He needed to ensure that every corner was meticulously searched in the pursuit of his half-brother. Yet, as he studied the blueprint, he stumbled upon a revelation he hadn't anticipated. The secret pathway led straight to his half-brother's room, a realization that sent a shiver down his spine.
Initially, Taehyung dismissed the notion, unable to fathom that Saya could be connected to their daughter's disappearance. He clung to the belief that she was innocent, unwilling to entertain the prospect of her involvement. Yet, as pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place, his denial crumbled, replaced by a growing sense of dread.
The signs were there, but he always ignored them, because for once he wanted to believe that Saya was opening up to him. Every time the thought of her betrayal crossed his mind, he ignored it blaming it on his paranoia. But Jimin's unexpected presence, and the abduction of Nabi—all too conveniently timed to be mere coincidence.
He understood that Jimin couldn't simply materialize and whisk his daughter away, especially with security measures tighter than his own. Then, realization struck him like a thunderbolt. The possibility of her daughter's guards working for his wife as well as collusion between her and Jimin to make a fool out of him.
Reluctant to accept his finding, Taehyung found himself heading towards the hidden passage. It was the only way to dispel his doubts, to confront the truth head-on, no matter how painful it might be to acknowledge. And now as he faced his biggest fear, he could only hang his head low as the bitter truth got injected into his veins. Seokjin was right, he should have never trusted her but love made him blind.
"Where is our daughter, Saya?" His voice was merely a whisper as he asked Saya.
Saya's facade remained unyielding as she feigned ignorance, her voice steady as she replied, "I don't know what you're talking about, Taehyung. Nabi is missing?"
With a sudden surge of rage, he raised the gun in his hand, the metal cold against his trembling fingers as he pointed it directly at her. "Where is Nabi, Saya?" he shouted, his voice echoing through the room. "Where is our daughter?"
The charade was over, and there was no point in pretending any longer. Saya shed the facade of innocence, facing Taehyung head-on with a resolve born of necessity. With her gaze locked onto his, she declared with unwavering certainty, "Seol is safe."
Her words sliced through the heavy silence, each syllable shooting an arrow across his heart when she revealed the entire truth, " She is with her real father."
Taehyung's eyes widened in disbelief. The truth hit him like a tidal wave. The illusion he was living on finally shattered discovering Jungkook was not only alive but had stolen away the one thing that mattered most to him.
