With a gentle nudge, Diva tried to rouse the man lying face down on the pillow. "Jungkook, you need to go," she requested, but he remained stubbornly still. Instead, he emitted a muffled whine and squirmed and twisted his body, a clear sign of his reluctance.

"Jungkook, you really need to leave," she urged him giving him a gentle yet encouraging push. Jungkook raised his face to give her a disapproving look, his unwillingness clear in his expression.

"NO" He protested firmly.

"But you have to" Diva reminded him as the guy buried his face back into the pillow while responding, "I don't want to talk to him, I don't want to see his face, I don't want to even look in his direction" Though his words were muffled because of the pillow, she could make out what he was saying.

She sighed, trying to find the right words to convince him. "He is your father, you cannot avoid him. Plus, this an important meeting. You cannot miss it over a minor dispute," she asserted with a tinge of urgency.

Jungkook sprung up from the pillow taking offense to the word she used to describe his father's atrocity "Minor dispute!" he scoffed, his voice laced with incredulity.

"He almost killed you," he roared, his tone echoing through the room.

Diva remained undeterred, "But he didn't" she reminded him as a matter of fact.

Jungkook shot back, "That's not the point," his frustration over her denial was evident in his body language.

"He shouldn't have involved you over a spat between brothers" He enunciated his belief which made her almost snort. The irony of his statement wasn't lost on her, and she bite her lip to stop herself from snickering. After all, she was the very source of the "spat" he was referring to.

Diva's fingers traced a delicate path along Jungkook's cheeks, her touch tender "And what choice did he have?" She posed the question gently, "Tell me Jungkook, would you have left Jimin alone if your father had merely given you a verbal warning" she probed, peering into his eyes as she sought clarity.

"Would you allow him to live under the same roof?"

At the mere mention of his half-brother's name, Jungkook's eyes flared with a mixture of anger and disgust. Yet, the answer to her question was already clear to both of them. He couldn't bear the mere thought of Jimin's existence, let alone having him anywhere near Diva's life. In fact, he already had countermeasures prepared if Jimin would ever return to Venesia. But unfortunately, his father's threat had put all of his plans on hold.

Jungkook's face etched with despair as he leaned in closer to Diva, "So you okay with what happened?" his words spit out like malice. "Since you were taking the beating to save the man you love from his evil half-brother?" His tone was mocking, almost incredulous, but the hurt in his eyes was clear.

Taehyung's face flashed in her mind and her hands froze. The day he revealed his true intention was also the day she met the monster he had become. He killed off her friend just to create a misunderstanding between her and Jungkook and she didn't dare to imagine what else he was capable of.

"He doesn't own you, not anymore" his deep voice resonated in her ears sending chills through her spins. Jungkook words had never hit so true to her heart. They showed her the hidden meaning behind her actions which she had failed to understand initially.

After a moment of deep thinking, a smile slithered on her lips and she admitted not just to him but to herself , "Indeed"

Her reply hit him hard, like a punch to the gut. He clenched his fists, trying to find the strength to push through the pain. It took him a moment or two to compose himself, "And I thought, there was no part in my heart left to be broken" Jungkook gave her a pained smile and got out of bed to get dressed for the meeting.
