Brody POV
We just dropped the girls off, and by the girls, I meant Danielle. Something was off from where she told me she was staying. It was some apartment complex, but she wouldn't let me go inside to bring her into her apartment. She went inside no problem, I just wanted to make sure that she got in safely.
I figured she was just embarrassed or just didn't want me to meet her grandparents or something like that. Whatever the case, I saw her go into the building and the rest of us left. We told her we wanted to drop her off first since our parents have a late curfew for us, plus her place was closer.
Which was technically a lie. We went past my pack going to her apartment building. But I obviously wasn't going to tell her that, not yet at least. It definitely wasn't the time.
We get back to the pack a short while later and I say goodnight to my friends. All except Andrew. They go down the corridor to go to the bedrooms, while I stand there with Andrew for a few moments until they leave.
"Andrew," I say very lowly. Enough to know that someone was about to get their ass beat.
"Yes sir?" Andrew asks.
"Find Jasper and bring him to me. Now."
"Right away sir." Andrew bows to me for a moment before he turns and takes off down the corridor to find Jasper.
I clench my jaw to try and control my anger as I take a turn and head off to my office. I wanted to get a look at the reports from what the pack did today after I dealt with Jasper.
I walk down the long corridor towards some conference rooms, then turn right down a small hallway. My office was at the end of it.
It's a decently big office, one larger than I was expecting when I got it. The floor was a medium-dark wood, the bookshelves being the same color. My desk was lighter, with a small lamp and a bunch of files on it. Which I would have to go over tomorrow before I hung out with Danielle.
I have a lot of books on my bookshelves against the wall to my left, lots of them are very informative about packs, wolves in general, and some old ones that I just enjoy reading.
I've got a small table right when you walk in the left, filled with some trays for drinks and other little nick nacks. There are also two leather chairs in front of my desk, with a big rolling chair that I use at my desk.
I peer out the windows behind my desk, breathing in a deep sigh when I see the snow falling down. It wasn't snowing that badly, just a slight snowfall. But it was beautiful nonetheless with the moon shining brightly in the sky.
My time is cut short when I hear a knock at my door. I turn around to see my father standing there and I mentally groan when I see that he appeared to be angry.
"Father," I grumble, "won't you please come in." Though I said it in a very sarcastic manner. Obviously.
He enters the room before I even finish my sentence, my mother that I now notice came in behind him.
"Where were you?" He asks darkly. His dark brown eyes are practically black, and that's a way I can tell he's angry with me. Though the tone gave it away a lot more than that.Jesus Christ. If I gotta deal with this again then I'm gonna need some Advil or something.
"I was out," I say simply. I try my best to ignore him as I open a file with today's work in it from my men. I wanted to get a quick peek at it before I went to bed, but I wouldn't have if I had known he would be here.
"An alpha's job-"
I snap and slam one of my hands on the table, making my father flinch slightly. My mother was glancing between the two of us worriedly. Ever since I've become alpha there's been tension between my dad and I, and I know that she hates it. But I unfortunately can't help it, not when it comes to my dad.
"I don't need to hear you say what an alpha's job is. Considering that you left."
My father doesn't like taking attitude, so it's only right that he snapped at me immediately after I said that.
"You have no right to speak to me like that. Especially since I gave you that title and-"
"I never asked to be alpha at this age," I snarl out. "It's not my fault that you left for years and I was given the title. If you don't like the way I run this pack, either leave or fight me for the title. I am not going to hand it back willingly after I worked so hard after being given it."
